After rearranging my office I needed to add this wireless card to my PC for connectivity. This card works wonderfully. I have an 802.11AC router with beam forming enabled and an ISP plan for 600Mbps. The speed tests on the computer using this wireless card consistently match speed tests ran on the router/AP itself though your results may vary.

I dual boot the system with windows 10(latest update as of this review) and linux(ubuntu 20.04 based popOS!). This card was detected by both OS's without any driver installation or configuration needed. Definitely would recommend this card.

Update Nov. 25th, 2021
-- Confirmed works perfectly with Ubuntu Linux 21.04 and 21.10. Card was picked up seamlessly.
-- Confirmed works with Linux Kernel 5.15 also.
-- Works with Windows 10 21/H2 update perfectly.
-- Windows 11 also picked up the card and installed it with no issues.

Summary: If you're looking for a WiFi & BlueTooth card that'll work seamlessly out of the box for Linux up through 21.10 and Windows 11, you should consider this WiFi card. I continue to be very satisfied with having purchased my first of two almost two years ago now. It's been rock solid.

Update June 30th, 2021

I ordered and installed my second of this card in my Linux Server. Works flawlessly! Works with Linux 21.04 perfectly. It also works with Win10 and the new Win11 Preview Edition. You will not regret buying this card.

** Update June 22nd, 2021 **

This card works on Ubuntu Linux 21.04 with Linux Kernel 5.12.xx flawlessly. If you're a Linux user and are looking for a stable, reliable Wifi card -- this is it. I've been running with it for over a year now and have gone through several Ubuntu Linux version upgrades and numerous Linux Kernel updates all flawlessly. I've experienced zero issues with this Wifi card. If you're a Linux user, rest assured this Wifi card works well.

Now my original review of this card:

I purchased this card after reading reviews that stated it works with Ubuntu Linux 20.04 as that is the desktop I run.

Ubuntu 20.04 w/kernel 5.4.x picked up the card and installed it right away. Did not have to locate a driver online, compile and install manually. It just worked. Just for giggles, I popped in a separate SSD and performed an Ubuntu 20.04 install from scratch to see if the install would recognize it. It did. Saw the card, I selected it, put my WiFi password in and off the install went, downloading updates as well.

If you're looking for a blazing fast WiFi card for Ubuntu 20.04 - this is absolutely it. No muss, no fuss, it just works.

I also have a Windows 10 boot disk in this computer so I booted Win10 to see if it'd pick up the card automatically - and it did. No surprise there.

Conclusion: Solid WiFi card for Ubuntu Linux 20.04 and up to kernel 5.4.3 Same for Windows 10.

I may buy another just to have a spare.

Update June 3, 2020: I'm noticing some reviewers are reporting that the Bluetooth works for them but the WiFi does not. There's a simple explanation for this: you're installing the card in the wrong slot on your motherboard. The Bluetooth gets its power from a separate connection (USB) on the motherboard, thus the "bluetooth works, wifi doesn't" reviews. Before returning the card as "defective" please make sure you install the card in the proper slot first. If in doubt, it should be the slot closest to the processor (on many motherboards.) Hopefully this helps those who purchase the card and don't know the difference between the "short" and "long" slots on their motherboards.

Update Nov. 6th, 2020:
Had this card a few weeks shy of 6 months. So far, working flawlessly. I've updated my Linux Kernel to Ubuntu 5.8 and am having zero issues with this WiFi card. I'm purchasing another to go into a legacy AMD FX-8350 build so I can connect it wirelessly with Linux also.

I've also updated my WiFi router to a TP-Link WiFi6 model and the wireless speeds I'm getting back to my router are blazing fast. Fully taking advantage of the 300mb Comcast internet connection I have. Very happy with this adapter.

Both 2.4 and 5 GHz wifi work great even with the router on the other side of the house through many walls. Bluetooth works fine without any issues. My only complaint is that the antennas are a bit long, but it's not an issue at all. The card itself is pretty small which is nice because it sits close to my graphics card and I was worried it might block airflow. Hooked it up and it worked right away without having to use the install CD.

This is a PCIe 1X card, so it should work in any open PCIe Gen 3 slot on recent motherboards.

I am using it on a new AS-Rock B450 motherboard with a Ryzen 5-3600 running Windows 10 Pro.

I have had no problems with it. The drivers loaded easily, and once I figured out how to use WiFi on W10 it connected easily to my Linksys AC3900 MU-MIMO mesh router. I have a 50 Mbit ethernet link, and this is as fast and reliable over WiFi as my wired connection to my router.

I really like the external antenna because the signal is not reduced by having the antenna tucked back behind the computer, as is the case with many cheaper cards.

I also like the Intel WiFi 6 chipset, which is reputed to be more reliable than the more common Realtek WiFi chipsets.

This also has the latest Bluetooth 5.0, which I believe is a reputable Broadcom chipset. It works reliably with all my bluetooth headsets, and seems to eliminate the lip sync problems I have with other bluetooth devices.

With 802.11AX having a large number of routers on the market, there are few to none pci-e clients. There are basically 2 M.2 choices one being Intel the other being Killer however when you plug this into a pci-e adapter your using an 802.11ac adapter with an 802.11ac antenna. I've tried numerous configurations and was close to just running a hardwire to my desktop when GIGABYTE released this GC-Wbax200. I'm getting full speed connection with my Netgear RAX80. If your using an AC router you wont see any gains. Also almost all 802.11ax Windows drivers require Windows 10. And lastly, the antenna does have different angles you can switch to on the magnetic base. Very helpful.

REVIEW UPDATE with the release of Intel wi-fi driver 21.50.1.1 ac connections now reach my maximum provided by my ISP at ~400 Mbps all setting are the same as below I now rate this adapter with five stars. Wi-fi 6 (ax) still not tested due to lack of router.

The Aorus GC-WBAX200 replaces a built in Broadcom 802.11ac (computer Asus Rampage V Edition 10). Windows 10 Pro reports the Broadcom connected at 1.3GHz. Internet Speed Test to my Netgear R7000 (AC) router reports ~400Mbps (the limit of my ISP) with an up load of ~40Mbps. With the Broadcom disabled and using the GC-WBAX200 my ISP delivers ~50Mbps with an upload of ~15Mbps, however Windows reports a connection of up to 780Mb. The GC-WBAX200 is a disappointment for Wi-Fi, using an AC router. When I replace the router with an AX capable unit I will report back and perhaps change my rating of two stars.
Regarding Bluetooth, the situation is much better. With the Broadcom a distance of 15 foot would cause the audio to start dropping out. With the GC-WBAX200 the distance has increased to 30 foot and that includes a thin wall.
Both drivers are from Intel with the Wi-Fi being v 21.40.2.2 and the Bluetooth v 21.40.0.1
I am currently using the Broadcom for Wi-Fi and the GC-WBAX200 for Bluetooth. The board is connected with a 9 pin to the motherboard and the 9 pin to the card. A nice option of this board is that it can be connected via a 9 pin connector or a USB type A male connector.

Windows 10 will only recognize this device as a 2.4ghz radio with the default driver. You have to install the driver from the TP Link site in order to connect to 5ghz networks. The driver on the supplied CD will probably work too, but I always check the manufacturer's site for the latest driver rather than relying on what comes in the box. Other than that, the adapter works very well and is a good value.

I have a TP link access point and got these for the far bedrooms of my house. It did the trick 100%. I was getting about 3 mpbs from a no-name wireless mouse receiver sized adapter, and video would not stream at 1080, which is unacceptable. I wanted to add another WAP, but figured a unit with an antenna should be enough and it totally was. It now maxes out my connection on speedtest, which is 130 mbps, and over my own network its even faster. So really good value for the money and TP link in general is killing it in the consumer market in terms of bang for the buck. I also have their POE switch, works great.

Oh - if you have Windows 10 there's no drivers to install. Just plug it in and it will auto-install within seconds, at least it did on my machines with 1803/1809. Another bonus versus getting some totally unknown brand.

A good fast solution for connecting to WiFi if your desktop doesn’t have WiFi support and there are no Ethernet cables around. This plug and play WiFi antenna works just like one that plugs into the pcie but the specs may vary. I haven’t had any issues with this and am pleased with this purchase

Pros:
- Significantly faster Wifi. I went from their TL-WN725N USB dongle model to this PCIe card and jumped from an average of 30Mbps downloads speeds to 85ish Mbps.
- Bluetooth signal now reaches to all parts of my apartment. My bluetooth headphones no longer cut out as I walk room to room.
- Install was super easy and fast.

Cons:
- Much bulkier than a dongle.
- Requires a USB 2.0 slot on your motherboard.
- I don't have a CD drive to download the drivers, took my computer a second to find and fetch all the drivers needed for Wifi and bluetooth to work properly.

EDIT: After using this for a little over a week, I seem to be running into issues with the card being picked up on my PCI-e slot. I'm unsure if this was caused by the card suddenly going faulty or if there was some driver update.

As I take a look at my BIOs, the slot shows empty, my internet adapters do no pick up the card, strangely enough though, the Bluetooth still works. I'm only able to resolve this issue by opening up my computer, unplugging and plugging back in the card each time I start up the computer, which is very annoying.

I've ordered a replacement card to see if that resolves the issues. If not, I will be returning in search of another product.

EDIT 2:
I received the replacement card, installed it and tested. Everything seemed to check out, interestingly, my original card also works now.

Considering the original did work for a bit and started cutting in and out, I'm curious if it had something to do with the drivers and potentially installing in the new card flushed them out?

If anyone else runs into similar issues then please let me know, I'd love to know what was causing this weird bug.
Anyway, back to 5 stars!

Short Review: This device is excellent. The performance is just solid and the range is impressive. Has better range and performance then previous AC cards read below for details.

Disclaimer: I own a regular AC1900 router not AX and still saw massive improvements.

The paragraph below explains my previously owned device so you may gauge if this product is right for you.

I previously owned an MSI branded Intel AC3168 wireless card. My computer is at the opposite corner and end of a decently sized home. The AC3168 continuously struggled to keep a stable connection of a 5Ghz Band. The AC3168 also gave me about 25-35% of the total possible bandwidth my internet provider advertised.

As for this beast of a Network card rocking the AX200 chip even without the antenna accessory attached gave me the full speed of my internet connection and the stability is perfect. It dropped the ping about 10-15ms which is perfect. I know this chip is capable of speeds between 800-950 Mbps for this with gigabit internet connections.

In the photo: excuse, my bad wiring the antenna has one wire coming to it and it splits into two when connecting to the card. Unfortunately, the Bluetooth feature does need a USB header to be taken.

Mark

The photos show my before and after WiFi speed. The test was taken immediately before and after the install.

I was connected via the Ethernet port, but had to move around my computer and needed to use WiFi.

I had just upgraded to 600 mb/s and was using a generic USB WiFi adapter.

As you can see, the speed available on the PC was substandard. I couldn’t get higher than 35 mb/s.

The kit was a simple install. Open the PC, remove the pcie card metal blank and plug in the card. Attach the Bluetooth cable to the motherboard and screw in the card and connect the antennas. Power up and install the drivers, which are from Intel. I didn’t use the enclosed CD because I don’t have a CD drive anymore, like most others.

As you can see, I’m getting a good speed now.

There are some cheaper cards based on the same chipset, but for the price difference, I feel this card more appealing.

Recommended.

(This review is for the Archer T6E/AC1300 PCIE card)

This is a great card! Coming from an N600 Netgear USB that would drop connection, despite me being well within range, every couple of minutes and then spit out DNS errors this was a huge step up!

I plugged it into my motherboard, booted it up, installed the latest drivers. Now you see... that's a problem. The 2016 drivers were extremely buggy, the card would randomly cut out connection every few minutes like my Netgear. But after going back to the 2015 drivers (V1_151105) it has been FANTASTIC.

I game and stream HD content and this hasn't let me down thus far, first day having it, will edit later on as time goes on.

EDIT 06/22/2018: Still a complete rock to this day. The only issue I've had is Windows Update causing the driver for the wireless card to crash when downloading a list of packets so large it literally caused Windows to have a mild heart attack, freeze, and kill the running driver for the wireless card. It was as simple as going to gpedit.msc and killing off Windows Update and the problem hasn't happened since.

Update 10/13/2018: Still an absolute rock. Love it.

Update 04/27/2019: I found the TP-link drivers to be unstable when downloading large game files. Turns out the T6E uses a Broadcom BCM4360 chip and the actual drivers for the chip are way more stable, and the range increases pretty significantly with this driver. All that's needed is to search for the drivers, download the windows 10 variant, unzip the folder. After the files are unzipped, uninstall the AC1300 in Device Manager (do advanced uninstall so previous drivers are deleted), reboot, and when the device pops up as an unknown device, choose to search for your own drivers on your machine and select the file labeled "64" in the broadcom drivers that were unzipped. After that, you'll actually see a jump in download speed and a drop in ping.

I just wish TP-link did a better job with drivers.

Code Wrangler

Ubuntu 18.04 requires you to use the proprietary bcm driver, so you need to install the card and connect your Ethernet wired port to your LAN (with Internet access). Run the following to install the drivers and reboot.

sudo apt-get install linux-headers-generic
sudo apt-get --reinstall install bcmwl-kernel-source

For Ubuntu Desktop use should see the wifi icon at the top right of the screen. For Ubuntu server run sudo nmtui.

I upgraded from a TP-LINK TL-WN781ND Wireless N150 (2.4 GHz) which would max out at around 33 mb/s, but with the TP-Link Archer T6E AC1300 I was getting 100+ mb/s using Spectrum with 100 mb/s plan. I know it can go faster, but to finally get my full Internet speed over 5Ghz is worth it. If you are using Ubuntu Desktop/Server it works perfectly.

Jules

Like many before me, I had problems with the drivers and I couldn't get it to install right. I had internet access but had constant lag spikes that made it almost impossible to play video games. However, after completely removing all evidence of my previous wifi card, rebooting, and reinstalling the drivers, and after losing my mind from all the bad experiences I've had getting a card to work right (this is my third), I FINALLY have a BEAUTIFUL wifi connection. It's super smooth and I honestly couldn't be happier. It took a lot of hair pulling out and a lot of research but it was totally worth it.

This is the perfect affordable solution for those who have to work on a laptop or computer off of Wifi, but do not get a strong signal. I do my homework for college in the basement of our house, and have always struggled with my two laptops not staying on the Wifi. I bought this, and easily installed the drivers using the provided CD (I believe that there is an option to download the drivers from the internet if that is necessary). Both of my devices now not only work much better on our original network, but also now work on our 5G Wifi network, which was not accessible at all prior. Another benefit to this is that you can use the built-in Wifi chip to connect to a wireless printer and use this one to connect to the main network. It works amazingly well! I paid the full amount for this product and was not refunded in any way for writing this review. Please click the appropriate button if this review was helpful to you. Thanks.

The wifi adapter for pc was pretty easy to install ,i download the driver by user manualand is easy to use. More importantly, it solved two problems I had. First, my computer cannot access my 5G home network and with this new device I can. Second, my WIFI speed was slow but my ISP is providing high 400M to my house. The new device has substantially improved my internet speed to my computer over our home WIFI, I am quite satisfied.

So the card came in this nice packaging, and looked nice with nice and big antennas. I was happy, and i started installing it, and oh boy did my mood change quickly. My computer doesn't have a DVD-ROM player, so i had to use my old wifi card to get it from the site, which was fine. I install the drivers, switch the wifi cards out, and restart my computer. After restarting, it connected to my wifi, but the speeds were so slow, Chrome actually thought i had no internet. So, got out my laptop, used the cd, and put the drivers on a usb stick, only to find out they were the same drivers i found online. Out of desperation, i restarted my computer and all of a sudden, it worked. The speeds are now good, and im satisfied.

Recently built a pc and wanted a WiFi and Bluetooth card for convenience. Easy to instal: just plugged the card into the pcie 2.0 x1 slot and plugged the cable connected to it into JUSB1. Turned on computer and with an Ethernet cable plugged in, it began to download the drivers automatically. Then I could use Wifi and Bluetooth devices with no hassle. Recommended if you have windows 10. Can’t speak for the other versions.

I bought the TP Link Archer TX50E to replace my old dying Gigabyte WiFi/Bluetooth card. I'm going to go over some misconceptions first.

This is a 2-in-1 card meaning it is CAPABLE of both WiFi and Bluetooth. The PCI-E portion of the card is for Wifi. It's known that if you buy a 2-in-1 card, you should be expecting to use a USB 2.0 motherboard header to use the Bluetooth portion of the card. If you don't have enough 2.0 headers, look into buying a USB 2.0 Header expansion hub.

Secondly, this runs on the Intel AX200 wireless chipset which is WiFi 6 (802.11ax) capable. So when the description says AX3000, it's referring to the combined POTENTIAL MAXIMUM DOWNLOAD speeds of the 2.4 GHz (2402 Mbps) and 5.0 GHz bands (574 Mbps). So if you need drivers for this card, you can grab them directly from Intel's website.

Third, if your router is not capable of WiFi 6 speeds, you will not reach WiFi 6 speeds. Check your model number to see what you're getting. The same thing applies to MU-MIMO and WPA3 Encryption. If your router does not support those two, your card will not use them. It will instead default to S-MIMO, WPA2 (or whatever is available) and WiFi 5 (or whatever your router is capable of).

Now that I've cleared some misconceptions let's move to the features then pros and cons.

Features:
- WiFi 6 (802.11ax) capable card / Intel AX200 chipset
- Bluetooth 5.0 (USB 2.0 cable included)
- WiFi (PCI-E interface) and Bluetooth (USB 2.0 Header) [2-in-1 card]
- MU-MIMO (multiple user- multiple input mutiple output) capable, in pigs latin it should give lower latency
- 2x2 Antenna
- WPA3 Encryption
- Low profile bracket included

Pros:
- WiFi 6 and Bluetooth in 1 card
- reliable latency
- MU-MIMO
- WPA3

Cons:
- Large Antennas (I'll explain why below)

The ability to have both WiFi and Bluetooth in one card without having to sacrifice a USB port (not USB header) is great since I can use a PCI-E slot. I've had reliable speeds and latency (ignoring ISP interruptions). The card is barely noticeable inside my build since it's relatively small and sits under my GPU.

Although, because the card sits under my GPU the antennas do stick up bumping into my GPU cables. I have to move the antennas slightly to the sides as a result. The positioning of the antennas don't affect performance but aesthetically it sucks.

The TP Link Archer TX50E is a good WiFi and Bluetooth card if you're looking for a 2-in-1.

This is the kind of product that requires a *TINY* bit of knowledge to install and configure, so naturally there are a ton of negative reviews on Amazon because people don't know what they're doing.

Old versions of windows 10 had issues with this card - this has since been fixed. So if you have a newer build of windows 10 (1809 or newer) you just plug it in and it works. No driver install, you don't need the disc, windows 10 already has the driver for it out of the box and it works great.

Been using it for a week without a single problem. I bought this because I got fiber and wanted to take advantage of it. I can download at 45MB/s (megabytes, not megabits...) which is the same speed I get on LAN. Connections are rock solid for large downloads (downloaded over 200GB on it so far without a hiccup) and pings when gaming are within 1-2ms of my PC on LAN when playing competitive games and shooters.

Not sure what all the complainers are talking about, because this card is perfect. Easy to install, speeds are high, and it works great for gaming. VERY happy with the purchase!!

Windows 10 automatically detected the cards and ran it, which is nice. It, however, kept dropping my 5G connection. The 2.4G connection was constant. After installing the drivers from the CD included, the card became more stable. Not sure about the range, but the signal was strong. It's in the same room as the wireless router at the moment. The card was easy to install. I purchased this card because I have an TP-Link Archer router. Worth the money.

Okie Six

Easy install. Plug and play. Works great, I moved my desktop to a room with no Ethernet jack and this was the easiest option to get internet. I don't notice any difference in speed. On occasion the WiFi won't connect after the PC has been asleep for several minutes. This happens randomly and has always been fixed by a simple reboot. I have dual monitors and occasionally one won't wake up after sleep too, so I think it's the PC, not the WiFi card. PC is about 40 feet, with two interior walls between it and router.

Installed in a HP Z420 Desktop running Windows 10 Pro. Replaced a USB dongle that was a complete disaster.

Popped off the cover, installed it in the proper slot, closed cover (10 minutes tops). I am NOT a PC builder. This is easy.

Plugged it in, turned on the Computer, and it was up and running. Didn't need install disks. Just flat worked right out of the box. Will test speed tomorrow.

Exactly what I needed.

Want a cheap but also reliable and quick wifi option for a desktop? You probably won't do better than this.

Don't go the USB route, it'll just leave you frustrated.

Note; I had to download drivers before this would work for me, so make sure you can get them to your PC somehow. Be it another connection, or download them elsewhere to a flash drive, etc.

I do believe it came with a driver CD but uh, I don't think many people still actually have disc drives.

I purchased this because my desktop PC, which used to be located right next to the cable modem, is now in a different room, so using a hard wired ethernet cable was not feasible.
Installation took 5 minutes including opening the case of the desktop. I found an open PCI express slot and used it. They included a small screw to secure the board to the PC frame, so I didn't have to go looking for one.
The driver software installed quickly (and this is an old Windows 7 machine). Restarted the PC, and voila! The card found my Wifi network immediately. Signal reception is strong. Thanks for a product which does everything it's supposed to with minimal effort to install! Highly recommended.

Have one of the MSI Motherboards with the KILLER E2200 Network adapter, Hot Trash is a nice way of describing it, the driver set is so buggy that in the middle of perusing the .net, the card will literally disappear from your system and not even show up in Device Mangler.

Thats an excersize in futility. The drivers software and even support are worthless.

Enter the TP LINK family of products. Ive been procuring their products for years, theyve never given me any issues at all, minus some minor connectivity with an AC 750 router that once i updated the firmware went away. They tend to lean to the techie market with removable/upgradeable external antennas and tweak settings in most of their better products.

PCI-E is a great form factor for a high speed NIC, and remember, your network is only as fast as the slowest thing its connected to. So i Purchased one of these for 15 bucks, literally shut down the computer, shoe horned the adapter between my Twin Nvidia Titan SLI GPUs, and turned the pc back on.

9 seconds later desktop appears, punch in my password and the card is already drivers loaded and connected at 1000x1000mb quick tracert and ping-t and some speed tests show that its using every megabyte of that connection in full duplex mode with NOT ONE error, true 2 gigabit bandwidth.

This is important. Reason being is that most of us have well over 10/100 Internet speeds, if you cheaped out with a cheap 10/100 Cisco Router or Cable Modem, the Gigabit wont help, youre limited to 100mb regardless.. In my case every desktop is gigabit, the switches are gigabit, and the router/cable modem is gigabit. On Spectrum Internet I average 960mb download speeds and 260mb out. Less than 18 seconds to download a ripped dvd from an offsite FTP server. avg time prior was about 3-4 minutes.

This is a decent Card for the price, Realtek is up to the old skool Intel NIC standards, and unlike the onboard KILLER Networking garbage, this takes a LOT less resources and CPU/RAM to run.

Overall worthy of 5 stars. I also have 2 and 4 port server NIC's with this same chipset and theyre also very good and incredibly stable.

Buy one and replace the ONBOARD Killer Networking E2200 or 2000/3000 Series cards and then MAKE SURE TO DELETE all the KILLER NETWORKING drivers and SOFTWARE. Theres tons of articles on the Net about how-to.

MeanAndPinchy

My onboard LAN is crap, and I need one wired connection for potential network troubleshooting purposes, so I wanted an inexpensive PCIe card. Nothing fancy, just a plain old wired connection. I installed this card and booted to Ubuntu, which picked up the card and connected fine. Then, I booted to Win7 to check that, but it needed a driver. I put the minidisc that came with the card in the drive, expecting to see the installation for some useless and entirely unnecessary "connection manager" software, but I was wrong...lo and behold, there was a beautiful little INF! I installed the driver and the card works great. It's been a long, long time since I've come across a piece of hardware that came with *just* the driver I need to make it work. No crappy software that I refuse to install because it's not necessary, it sucks resources I could better use for something else and pisses me off because it plops itself into startup without being invited. No digging the driver out of said crappy software install file because I refuse to actually install it. Just. The. Driver. I was practically moved to tears.

Brian Foreman

Popped this into a open slot, screwed it down, fired up the computer, put in the installation CD and ran Autorun.exe. Was online literally 5 minutes later.

I almost didn't buy this because of the scary reviews of people having problems, downloading their own drivers and jumping through hoops...but why? It comes with an INSTALLATION CD containing the drivers and a completely automated installation program which works flawlessly!!!

Honestly, I think some people simply failed to pull the cardboard insert out of the box to find the installation CD underneath. As long as you do that, you'll be very happy with this!
