Was looking for a cute pick me up movie and this was perfect! All of the characters were funny, lovable, and most importantly relatable! Definitely watch this if you're sick of watching whatever rom coms are on netflix, hulu, etc. This was fresh!

just a girl

Really good rom-com. It gives you a high, and a warm fuzzy feeling, and you really like the leads. Great to see Tyler James Williams. Sarah Hyland was superb. The chemistry between the two was real. Makes you wonder if they are friends in real life. The movie's humour was laugh-out-loud good and never stooped to sophmoric levels or relied on being gross. Editing was great, you never felt like a scene did not belong or the movie was running too long. Great cast of premium actors even if their time on screen was short. The film was well put together. A pleasure to watch.

Super sweet without being saccharine and without all of that other trashy, over the top, sophomoric, video-game, raging-whiner, "everybody's a drama queen" nonsense. These two, remind me of the old Hollywood pairings of plain old excellent actors that riff off one another as if they've known each other their whole lives.

Well written, well acted and very well received by this particular lover of a story told, rather than merely spat at you in some sort of tantrum to get the good reviews from 13 year old critics.

Got news for movie-makers - there are 70 million of us baby boomers and the drama queen stuff is getting old. How about more of this good stuff?

3. Bride Wars

Bride Wars

Reviews from Real Users

I've never seen a movie that was animated to such a high degree by the acting as in "Bride Wars". Manhattan, the wedding planner offices, the black wrought iron gate fences are made a Camelot by the cosmopolitan rush of excitements. It's a theme park wonderland because the brides to be, Emma(Anne Hathaway) and Liv-for Olivia(Kate Hudson) crater the linear plot in a field of fascination, following the faces of wedding anticipation within the moments of point A to point B. The buildings and other tracts of obstinacy are negotiable.
Emma and Liv are Manhattan socialites. These two, are also like a projector. Their behaviors, and expressions, are like balls of bright colored yarn lying around a basket. Balloons of irony, and stoppages for plot are deferred by an effete subtlety of facial poses and interpretive resources. The mere motivations of either Emma or Liv segue one scene into another in points of interest. If Liv gets a keychain from her suitor, Daniel, and not a ring, we know that despite the disappointment Liv is going to have a tolerant good humor and some cynical recourse. Liv had mentioned her 'former chubby girlfriend' self and when paired with a cherubim smile at being proposed to, this ecstacy is articulated. When details about wedding planning are intruding into Liv's office it's devastation. The viewer observes an attitude laden stipulation: "Just send mom a big box of chocolates.". Cookies and other novelties arrive for Liv to eat: "The wedding has a price", she warns. The film can maintain a threatening premise and a sweet cajolery in a single frame.
Where all the conflict between Liv and Emma begins is with the tradition of 'saving the date'. Emma volunteers this observation: "To 'send the date' you have to 'know your wedding date'". This conjecture is critical. Emma is mobilizing the plot after she hears rumors. Emma is the serious side to the 'googly eyed ambiance'. It is credited here, because her presentation is archetypal, submerging all the artifices of a sabotage comedy. Take for example this joke. Liv confronts Emma about sending out her dates(for the wedding). This is an overt set-up piece, but the culminating aspects of the social repertoire of the two leads sends this scene off into a debonair rat-race. Emma in her jaded situation then ellicits a sense of this injustice to the audience: "You never ask me what I want.". Liv threatens back: "Your wedding better watch it".
Charming or vindictive, it's all inviegling. A stiil photo of Emma and Liv is incongruous, it is a lofty sentiment in a well-paced comedy. Don't think,it doesn't matter, it's just the tension is such, because we can project so much wonder about Liv and Em. I was seduced into accepting that these characters were real, whether walking around, or modeled from sketches. By the time Emma and Liv apologize to one another for ruining each others wedding, it's a quadrant faced sphere of appreciations. Impressions so grossly achieved in a movie, make resonant vital sentiments from material objects; energies exist in stealthy mutability, but something seeks us out. All that I can think, relate about exigent liveliness in this film, is in a line said by one of the caterers or wedding directors: "Let's move, this is not a dress rehearsal".
A final note. The director Gary Winick, is also responsible for "Charlotte's Web"(2006). A story about fabulist characters-animals, that cratered to depths through the use of advanced expressions-what the characters believed, their interactions.

This is a movie a person can enjoy watching multiple times. It is about two best friends who have planned their weddings since girlhood. When both of them become engaged and find that their dream venue is only available for one of them, the war is on. The two of them ensue in a horrible, but hilarious competition to try and make the other look bad. In the process they lose what was most important: the support and friendship of each other. Watch the movie to experience the funny and sweet resolution.

Who better than your lifelong best friend to bring you to your knees on the day you have both dreamed of since your were children! This hilarious, slightly poignant story of besties gone wild made me laugh till tears streamed down my face! Great movie for a dreary rainy afternoon!

4. My Big Fat Greek Wedding

Miss Josh Emmett

When it came out, it looked good. I'm a fan of John's since Northern Exposure.

Wasn't as LOUD as I thought it would be which was good. More true to life.

Yeah, another take on Romeo and Juliet but what love story isn't? This was very well done. Best part for me is what her brother did when he realized there was more to life that doing everything his father says, but it won't really upset his father in the end.

Okay, I'll watch part two. Worth it.

Get out lots of popcorn and prepare to laugh! Enjoy! (I believe the word popcorn has its origins in Greek...check it out! Opa!)

I understand very well what Ian and his family were feeling. The movie was very real, if somewhat exaggerated, (however the marriage of Greeks and non-Greeks is very common these days). I never knew what hit me when I met my first (and Ex) wife(who was Greek). It was a whirlwind from first meeting her, then her family ( marvelous people) to getting married in less than a year. The film was delightful, and for those who don't agree, they don't know very many Greeks.....We have a good time.

Such a great film, really stands up over time. This is a staple in our house along the likes of The Birdcage, Airplane, Caddyshack, Groundhog Day, Elf, Kingpin, and Something About Mary - movies you never get sick of watching again and again, laughing every time. Terrific script, great chemistry, funny, and lots of heart. A former patient of mine was a key cast member - confirmed what is apparent: Everyone had fun doing this movie.

5. The Wedding Date

Alright, I am a dedicated reader and escaper into all things romantic comedy. But I have avoided this movie, thinking it couldn't be enjoyable because of the premise. I can happily say I was wrong. In this fantasy, a beautiful young woman (Messing) hires an ivy league educated male escort, to pretend to be her date for her sister's wedding (Mulroney).

In its amusing tone and rollicking mood it reminds me, just a little bit, of Four Weddings and a Funeral. The Cousin is hilariously inappropriate; easily my favorite character. The Air Supply joke is just too funny, when, after he spots an old poster of the 80's group (Air Supply) in the closet of her childhood bedroom, he aptly breaks out into their most famous song, "All Out of Love," while he's taking a shower. Who hasn't done that, suddenly had a song stuck in their head after talking about a singer? But in this case it's also gentle teasing.

If you like light hearted romantic comedies that offer a brilliant mix of Hollywood and British actors or movies that make good use of beautiful English settings, then you can not fail to like this one. However, this is no Jane Austen. For example, the language occasionally veers towards choice words, although it never becomes explicit. And, I wasn't sure we needed to see so much of Dermot's well defined, "less than 9% body-fat" physique.

All in all, this one gets 5 stars for its beauty, for turning what could have been a distasteful theme into something amusing, for making me laugh out loud in parts, and most of all for surprising me.

Mary B.

This movie is as described above. Families with grown children - all involved are bright, beautiful & have no money problems whatsoever. Remember, I used the words Fantasy, & Perfect Escape from Reality. It's just a fun movie. The story line is plausible, the various hidden facts that come out little by little not really out of the range of possibility, etc. Debra Messing is so young, slender & absolutely beautiful as is Amy Adams. So curl up in your favorite chair or relax on your couch or loveseat, watch the movie, & for a little while get carried off into another world . . . I did & it's possible I might watch it again when I need watch a movie that will make me smile.

John H. Pendley

The merits of this film have long since been reviewed by others. This is about the delicious Debra Messing--as an actor, not a beautiful red-head. She is fine playing the gorgeous single girl. But she's also unsure of herself and decisive, as the occasion requires. She's frantic, hurt, angry, and klutzy. Yes, Messing is unafraid to be awkward and foolish-looking. This is talent, but maybe more importantly, it's bravery. And it's very funny. Except for Sarah Parish as the wacky cousin TJ, it's hard to take one's eyes off Messing. There's just no telling what she'll do next.

My wedding colors are Teal and Silver, and it’s been hard finding anything teal. I saw the many options of customizable wire color/hanger color/bow or flower color and decided to go for it. I’m so happy with the end results and am excited to use this hanger for my wedding dress! The wire is not sturdy, but the description does mention it’s not for hanging anything on, which makes perfect sense to me. The hanger itself is thick and shouldn’t have any problem holding my dress. Also the price was great and shipping wasn’t too long. The only potential negative is that the flower isn’t stuck on the hanger, it just loops over the hook. I plan to get it all straightened out and just hot glue it or tack it into place, not a deal breaker to me. Very please, and would highly recommend this sellers product!!

Bought this for my best friend who’s getting married and it is SO adorable, silk flowers look very nice and are of good quality, bow and ribbon is super cute and the hanger it’s self is very sturdy, wore is think and nicely shaped into the name wood on the hanger is beautiful and this product is just all around perfect! Great job and thank you for doing so amazing!

I absolutely LOVE my hanger and can’t wait to see it photographed with my wedding dress hanging on it! It’s absolutely beautiful and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. I’ve seen some done and you can’t even read the names on them and these you can make out perfectly! It’s important to note that the wiring is very delicate so you need to avoid tampering with that part. I’m keeping mine out of harms way until the day of the wedding!

“The Wedding” - by, Nicholas Sparks

To the gals, I say nothing, for nothing needs to be said, as the fairer sex does not lack for the finely tuned touchy-feely emotional sentiments normally required to thoroughly appreciate such a heart warming story of love re-kindled, long past its expiration date, due to various reasons … such as well intentioned, but ultimately ill-informed or misguided choices, for example.

But to the guys, I present a good-natured challenge. First, I double-dog dare you to read this book, particularly since the subject matter is not normally a typical guy’s first choice of reading material (relationship issues, romance, etc.). Secondly, if you do decide to actually read it, I triple-dog dare you to do so without at least once tearing-up or getting emotional; because yes, it is that good, and will more than likely tear at your heart strings. But don’t worry if your eyes stay dry right up to the last page, as it’s somewhat unusual for the male gender to equal our female counterparts in outward emotional expressiveness. So if no tears flow, rest assured that you’re probably still a human being, and have not inadvertently morphed into the newest version of a modern robot or Artificial Intelligence - ‘Sir’ or ‘Alex’; the imaginary male version of Apple’s ‘Siri’ or Amazon’s ‘Alexa’.

Accomplished author Nicholas Sparks, whose books are so good that they sometimes get converted into movies (‘The Longest Ride’, ‘The Choice’, ‘The Notebook’, etc.), are quite often much more than meets the eye. More than just a very good read, they can easily and often be a delightful and surprising mix of how things could and should be in a modern world of perplexing problems, particularly relational problems between adults, both young and old. His stories can be likened unto culinary delights, well seasoned with adventure, reality, hope, inspiration, lightheartedness (to name just a few) and the ongoing struggle to make things gone wrong … somehow right again; giving ample evidence that not only is he a gifted writer, but also experienced or sufficiently knowledgeable in the complexities of human relationships, as well as the credibly marvelous and miraculous unraveling of those all-too-often messy relational tangles which we unfortunately create for ourselves from time to time.

To date, I’ve seen only three of his novels in movie format (the three listed above), and read only this (‘The Wedding’) novel. In all four titles (movies or novel), which is a rather small sampling of his prolific writing accomplishments, it would seem that there is a very subtle or underlying theme; a new or already established relationship which somehow had started off to be, or eventually became somewhat incompatible - threatening heartbreak - but eventually over time, patience, and sincere effort, marvelously transformed into a genuinely respectable relationship to be relished.

It has been said countless times over, and in many ways, that there are two great needs/goals in life; 1) to be loved unconditionally, and 2) is to, in turn, love others unconditionally … an inspired sermon or intelligent lecture to properly validate such a claim is beyond the limited purpose of this book review. That being said, Nicholas Spark’s thoughtfully composed stories seem to contain the necessary ingredients to educate, encourage, and equip us to sufficiently prepare ourselves to be grateful recipients of such unconditional love, and to be worthy conduits to (in turn) unconditionally love others, despite the inevitable and disappointing struggles on our lifelong journey in achieving such needs, goals, or monumental milestones.

Wow … What a Read!

Thank you, Mr. Sparks; and please, don’t stop writing!

Wilson has worked to provide for his family, letting the romance slip from his marriage. His wife, Jane, is so disappointed when he completely forgets their anniversary one year, and he feels so guilty about it that he goes all out to make it up to her. My favorite character was Noah, of course, from The Notebook, my favorite book from this author. I loved the way he greets Wilson and the swan in the story. The best part of the book is the ending, and I loved it! I don't want to spoil it for others, so that's all I'll say. If you enjoyed The Notebook, don't miss this one! Author BJ Robinson, Author of The Azalea Plantation Series and others

People CAN be romantic. Either naturally or with choice and practice. It's maddening when someone says, "This is just who I am." Often, it's to justify some characteristic that's less than desirable. As the man telling the story, people can and do change. This was a very warm and inspiring story. Since it is told with a male's voice, yes, that gender would enjoy it too. And be better for it. All will enjoy it but specifically those who have been married for more than a few years. I related to many parts of the story including it sending me back in time with my memories .
The book is a semi follow up of THE NOTEBOOK but can very well stand alone since the focus is on other characters.
I loved the twist at the end! I didn't see it coming! Mr. Sparks pulled it off!
Beautiful story telling.

This movie is probably one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. This is coming from someone who is a movie buff. The jokes are great and the comedy is lasting. This isn't a movie where you remember the jokes so well you don't want to watch it again. It has replay value for sure. I feel Vince Vaughn was made to play his character.

Crystal E. Rose

My husband and I watched this movie a long time ago. We saw it on amazon prime and thought let's watch this again w out daughter. We had to turn the movie off half way through because of the sexual content. But when my daughter was asleep we watched it and laughed and laughed. It is a really funny movie but definitely adult funny.

Very funny movie, but caution... Rated R for Nudity, Sexual Content and language.
The whole movie is basically about trying "to score" at weddings. The movie is hilarious! They picked the 2 best guys to make this movie. No kids in the house if you watch it.

You know what? Ifs better to regrate before than after purchasing a product online. Returning products is a hassle.

While checking the product features, compare its pros and cons. Here in our list, we picked the {replaceKey} features from Amazon, to make a quick look. Hope that helps.
