I love this inverter ! I built an “Enchanted Treehouse Cottage” and use this inverter for my very basic power set up and it works great ! I leave it on 24/7. The pictures show all the lights(house, Bridges,bathroom)the sink(water pump) and projector and I have not had any problems yet at all. I have this connected to a 35 ah battery and a 150 watt solar panel in my quad trailer for off grid lighting and charging devices, works great ! I have run individually 1500+ watt keurigg coffee maker, small pancake compressor, (5.25 HP shop vac with a slight struggle on start up), small space heater for a short time and a

A few months back I picked up a 200W Solar kit from HD
it came with a pretty cheap controller and 400w inverter.

I added a couple AGM Batteries and quickly discovered that the 400w inverter just wasn't enough for charging batteries and running a shop vac or a saw. (it's all setup in my lawnmower shed).

One reviewer states he ran a 200 amp hour heater and this inverter failed to operate it at full power. A 3000 watt inverter requires a 12V / 250 amp hour battery source to run at full power (full load) with a runtime of only 1 hour or less (if using just one or two batteries). You need a robust BATTERY BANK sufficient to power something as energy greedy as an electric heater. Too many out there have TOO HIGH an expectation and TOO LOW of a battery bank while failing to DO THEIR MATH! I have built TWO solar projects with this inverter and never encountered any difficulty. My present solar project features battery power of "700" amp hours @ 12 volts driving this 3,000 watt pure sine wave inverter to its full capacity. If anyone is going to drive something as energy greedy as an electric heater, then use a less expensive modified sine wave unit - but even that one will still require sufficient battery bank power.

I had the 1500 Krieger inverter and it worked fine but it had a massive voltage drop. Plus it was not a sine wave inverter. I purchased this item from renogy to go with the 800 w, 12v, 400 ah renogy setup. I power a 250 w ac unit, 1 amp draw light, a stereo, I charge 8 18650 batteries daily, a phone, a tablet, craftsman chargers, a fan, a shower (pump-10 amp draw, water heater, and most of all I brew coffee and this inverter laughs as if it couldn't notice the draw. The 1500 watt I had sluggishly made a cup of coffee. Not to mention it couldn't run the ac. I am very happy with this unit.

Passion for Shopping

This unit is a beast! I have run my whole house (within reason, we don't push it). We have run the following directly off of the inverter, refrigerator with tablet built into door (sensitive electronics), wine fridge (gas compressor on a battery backup), all lighting, television and all internet, complete office and electric heaters. We have had neighbors ask "how do you have power?", we have the system backed up with 2 Optima Red Tops, 6 solar cell array, 48 volt, 1200 watt that keeps the batteries topped. I also have a generator, but hope to only need it in extended dark days. I had a unit fail, never really found out why, but the company helped me diagnose the unit for myself, I sent a few pics, they did too, their support was just fine, very to the point, good things to check (fuses,etc), then when we determined this one failed, they PROMPTLY sent me a new one! I also purchased a second one (they are cost effective and perfect for me) as a spare, this way I have zero downtime if one fails. Excellent service, strong product, excellent support!
Edit: it is now 6/2021 and I would still rate this inverter a beast! Soon I will be asking this seller (ECO-WORTHY) what they have in a 220 volt with a little more power that this. Best clear, this inverter is friggin powerful, it just lacks 220 v and I would love more overhead. I invested in more batteries and I never really worry about this system. We are running a 4 bedroom house off of this beast. There are limitations, but my wife and I have adjusted well. It was a nightmare when I recently had family over. I had to explain, "please don't use the toaster, curling iron, microwave and dish washer and clothes dryer all on at once. It swamps my solar system". Nobody likes it lol, they learn that if they run too much, the system shuts down...only took one incident for then to figure, coordinate electrical activities...it's not hard, you just have to get used to it.
Would I purchase again "Yes!" and I would not hesitate!

Have been completely off grid with this unit hooked up to my shop for three weeks,
So far so good! have it hooked up to 4 gel batteries and a 200 watt solar panel.
Has been keeping up good, will be adding a second 200 watt panel soon.
Seems to be a little slow switching from grid to battery power so I don't think I would want to use it for a computer UPS backup. Otherwise it runs the lights and misc. tools fine.

Has been working for months now with no issues, and I’ve been running it at half capacity almost all day every day. Haven’t tested any peak watts or anything like that, but it runs my 5000 btu ac all day and charges phone and laptop. Haven’t tested the battery charger side of things but it is good to have that option if i ever Need it. Very satisfied

Using this hybrid inverter as part of a backup system for when our utility shuts the power off, and it has performed very well. To get some ROI on the investment, we wanted it to power some appliances during the day and especially during 5-8 pm when our rates are the highest, and switch back to grid power when the battery dropped below 75% so that we have some backup for lights and electronics if we needed it. We were able to set it up to do just that, hence the 5 stars.

There is an screen that displays the current mode of operation that is very easy to understand. For example in the picture, you can tell that the power is coming from the grid while the battery is being charged by solar.

However, it was really tricky to program because of a very difficult to navigate input system. You have 3 buttons to program 37+ values, and to reach any of those you need to cycle through all the ones preceding.

It is the same 2 buttons (Up and Down) to view the different sensors. You have access to many readings, such as battery voltage, output pv power, voltage and amperage, output power, etc, but that also means cycling through 12 displays, including some that are firmware-level (like the fact this is a 24V input, 120V unit). This and the programming above are areas that could be improved.

For anyone trying to set it up the same way, here's my settings for a 24V Solar PV system and 24V LiFePo battery pack:

* "Load Working Mode" ([01] SOL) : Use Solar first, then battery, then grid
* "Battery Charging Mode" ([06] OSO : Only charge the battery with solar power
* "Battery Power to Utility Setpoint" ([04] 25.2V) : When the battery drops below this voltage, switch to grid power. For my battery pack, 25.2V is 75%.
Important: the manual doesn't specify this, but you must set "Battery Undervoltage Alarm" [14] higher than [04]. If it is lower, the system will simply ignore your setting for [04]. To check, after you set the value, scroll back to [04] and make sure it was applied properly. This really tripped us up initially. You can safely ignore the red "Fault" warning when this alarm is tripped off. We disabled the alarm sound as it's part of normal operation for us.
* "Utility to Battery Power Setpoint" ([05] 26V): The opposite of [04]. When the battery exceeds this voltage, switch back to primary operation, in this case use solar first, then battery. For my battery pack, 26.0V is 90%.
* "Battery Type" ([08] LF08): Our battery pack matches this setting the closest. Check your battery's manual for the correct values.
* "Battery Undervoltage Alarm" ([14] 25.4V): Make sure to set this higher than [04]. The default is only if you want to let the battery fully discharge before switching to grid power.
* "Buzzer alarm" ([25] DIS): disable the alarm for low voltage. You definitely want to switch this off if the system is often switching between solar and grid like ours.
* "Alarm" ([26] DIS): This will beep when there is a switch from solar to grid or back. We turned it off.

Works well. Have evaluated and tested most features with oscilloscope, power analyzers, and bench testing. Internal battery current indication is off by 2%, but within expectations. Conversion efficiencies are well above 90%, fans turn off or down during low power usage. Thermal management good, has internal air ducting to force air to selected parts of the circuitry. Self-protects against overpower, shuts down if necessary. MPPT functions well. Overall: well worth the price for a medium sized application. I am a retired power conversion engineer and was looking for a cost effective, reliable system. It more than met my expectations so far. Will update if I have future reliability issues.

Prompt critical

First if you have the slighest experience with wiring or electronics you could install this without the instructions because all the ports and internal connection points are labeled. If you dont have experience the large sheet color instructions are clear and easy to follow.

Second its basically perfect for a boat or small house solar. The 3k inverter is enough to run a 1500 watt heat gun and still run my tv and fridge. I use lifepo4 batteries and charge up to 5kw at a time, this charger will charge up to a little more than a kWh ber hour from utility power. I also use a pigtail to charge from a generator through my shore power connection. Your charging from solar will depend on your output of course. Unit is quiet at low to moderate loads and even with the fans on it not very loud.

The LCD is easy to read and understand. LEDs are easy to see, and the included book includes all the register values and defaults. You'll probably only need to change two to four of the values, like battery type and charging behavior.

The WiFi dongle is completely useless. Basically it showed me the product information printed on the unit. I was never able to even see live data much historical data.

If you want a system for a boat that is zero hassle once you set it up and run or have 24 v battery pack then this is a great choice, I couldnt be more pleased.

So far it works well, I'm very satisfied. It's much better than those $100 inverters without limiter. The build quality is good. My only concern is that it's running a bit hot at or above 500watts, around 56*C based on the screen thermometer. I'm considering buying a second unit for the other leg, but wanted to see if this one will last through the California summer, since overheating is generally not a good thing for electronics.

Have been using 1000w grid tie inverter for 6 months now. I've had to oil the fan bearings once but everything else has been working great. Im running on 120 volts ac. I tried it at 240 but with the limiter clamp only on one leg it didn't work that well.

The only problem i had was when connecting to the mains. There was no diagrams in the booklet for this specific unit. It had 3 terminals for this to connect, but there was no information in this regard, so I had to google and connected the unit with the information. Now it is working fine.

The previous unit i bought was similar, but it had a kettle plug for connecting to the mains. In South Africa we have heavy weather from time to time, and be very careful with the installation, lightning can easily destroy the unit. But for the rest, i am quite happy with the unit. It is doing what it is suppose to do.

Last month I bought Renogy's (older) 2000W inverter and immediately returned it when I discovered this new product was available. THIS is the inverter you want if you have a Lithium-iron battery bank. It's more compatible with the waveform, allowing for improved efficiency and longevity of your equipment. It was easy to mount with #8 pan head screws + washers.

***UPDATE***: After long talks with Renogy, this inverter comes with 2AWG cables that are NOT within NEC guidelines!!! This device should use 2/0 cables that are in compliance with national code. Renogy stated that 2AWG cables can "technically" handle a max of 200amps which is true. However, the inverter is rated at a 4000W surge --> 333 amps. So ask yourself-- how often do you think you'll be using the full 2000W (and therefore possibly surging above the 2000W rms)? I bought my own 2/0 cables and would recommend the company providing them as well.

Tested in my trailer with a 100ah Lithium battery, and it runs all my applicances even the small microwave without issue.

I mounted it behind my WFCO electrical panel/converter. I used a bus bar for the battery, electrical panel and inverter connections, and instead of having to plug the trailer electrical cord into the converter, I added some Romex and tapped into a shared 15amp breaker so I turn the converter off and turn on the inverter to avoid converter drain. You don't want that running and trying to charge your battery while running off the battery.

It suits my needs, I'm very happy with it, but the weak point of this kit is the remote. Renogy sells one with a monitor and switch for $40. IMO it should just come with that. Ditch the cheap switch. I will be upgrading to that soon.

I have 4 100 watt panels. The Renogy adventurer PWM 30amp Lithium charge controller, andthe Renogy battery monitor. I will be able to keep a sharp eye on usage and not run into any major issues now.

I highly recommend this.

Works great and easy to setup. I like that it included the remote switch, though I haven’t installed that yet since I’m still working out my layout. The only thing I’m unsure of is using eco mode vs regular. I get that eco saves power at no load, but I still don’t know why you would choose normal mode over eco mode.
