I spent weeks looking at reviews for gloves as it was my first time seeing snow and I wanted to get something that would not fall apart and actually do what it States it would do.

These gloves arrived in two days. I loved that the seller made sure these got here efficiently.

At first I thought they were too thick (I’m from Florida) and we normally don’t have this type of glove here so I wasn’t sure if I got something that was too thick.

I am glad I did. Once we were in the snow in -3 degree weather I could not feel a bit of the cold. They were completely waterproof. The are lined and comfy in the inside.

Straps to tighten in two areas
Hook to keep them together when not in use
Fits as expected (ordered medium, my hand measure 7” from tip of middle finger to end of palm)

Just wanted to mention that you Cannot use with electronics. (Not necessarily a con but just a note)

It's hard to find good gloves in "extra small". My hands are tiny, child-size, as a petite woman (wrist to longest finger tip, about 6.25 inches). I bought these for the extra small factor, and the good reviews. I needed gloves to keep my fingertips warm while bicycling in freezing or below temps. These are the best pair of gloves I have worn so far. Very soft inside, Have kept the rain off, nice and flexible for braking/shifting. And they come very close to fitting itty bitty hands! I love the wrist straps, too, I can take off the gloves and still have them hanging around my wrists instead of trying to hold them somewhere awkward and drop them. I've only had them for a couple of weeks or so, but I love them. Very comfortable, and not too bulky. I can press the buttons on my bike headlights and tail lights with no problem. As far as my biggest concern about fingertip warmth while riding in sub-freezing temps, I cannot attest to that yet. It's only been in the 40's here since I got them. My hands have been super warm wearing these while riding.

UPDATE: Second winter of wearing these. They have held up amazingly. Keep my fingers warm in below freezing temps, and hands very dry in heavy rain. I examined them today, and they show only slight wear and tear on the palms. These are definately the best I have bought. Excellent buy!!

Skin with these gloves on a major powder day and blizzard day. Temperature was 10°F and my hands stayed warm the entire time. Was a little worried about the gloves because of some past negative reviews but these are five star gloves all the way. Easy to use with the tightening strap and really happy with the glove leashes as well. For the price there’s no better glove on the market I would say.

Amazing! My fingers are usually cold even with other regular gloves. These kept my fingers toasty in snowy weather! They are for men but I still got them in size Small. Tightening buckle works great for extra fit. They are a little bulky but I don't care what they look like cuz my hands are so comfy while I'm out with my boys playing in the snow!

I bought these for my daughters and my husband. I live in Alaska and I would highly recommend these. They’re really soft and warm inside and tuff and durable on the outside. They aren’t stiff at all. Very flexible materials and they hold up to Alaska’s winters better than any other gloves I ever bought for my family. I ordered the smalls for my 8, 11 & 12 year olds. They were a big on my 8 year old, but they got the job done. And I bought the large for my husband, they fit, but I’m going to order another pair in extra large for him since they’re not his true size. Extremely warm and comfortable. I would highly recommend buying these.

I bought these for my husband who stands outside for 12 hours a day. He's an assistant manager at an inspection station any needed something warm for his hands. I immediately ordered these based on the reviews. And true to word they are very warm. He says they stay warm and dry all day long, but they are useless when it comes to any type of manual dexterity. He has to take them off and on at work but is still grateful to have them, always close by so when he's done with whatever task he's up to he can slip these right back on. They would be great for shoveling snow or sledding though. They are water repellant, he hasn't gotten them soaked. I did wash them but did not put them in the dryer and they're still in great shape. That's why they get 5 stars.

Very happy with the quality and warmth. Only complaint is the flimsy plastic clip that keeps the gloves together when not in use but thats a minor issue.

Good quality construction and comfortable. The liner gloves aren't always necessary but make a big difference if the temp is low

Eric R. Andrews

I used these on a 3 day snowboarding trip to Colorado in January. Temps were on the warmer side ranging from low 30's to high teens. These gloves did the job for the full range of temps. When it was cold they kept me warm, when it was hot the inner glove worked to absorb any sweat. I found them easy to dry out at the end of the day by setting the inner glove by the fire. One suggestion, when you remove your hand from the glove be sure to pinch the tip of the middle finger while you're getting started. On 2 separate occasions I accidentally pulled the inner fingers away from the case and it was a pain to push them back out. I made sure to be a little more careful on subsequent hand removals and had no more issues.

Fantastic product kept my hands warm sledding and building snowmen with my kids all day. Very impressed

I love these gloves. I first purchased them as they matched one of my ski jackets. I was surprised at the comfort and fit. My hands are thin with long fingers. They fit according to the chart. I suggest using the measurement is correct. They are warm, and I don't use a warmer as I like the freedom of feeling my poles without being cumbersome. Classy, stylish, and warm. I recommend as they are as described.

This is an unisex one, I purchased it for myself, but my wife likes it so much, so she took it from me... The fur inside of the gloves is soft and warm with comfortable feeling of touches, I can fee the warmth one put my hands into the gloves. I has all the delicate design of ski gloves, like you can put you ski pass into the small pocket on the back of the glove, then you don't need to struggle getting the card out everyone trying to get on a lift or gondola. My wife and I like it very much!

The design is awesome, looks good, but it did not fit. I order XL but ended up getting mediums, not sure if it was a glitch in the system or they made a mistake. It didn't fit so I ended up gifting it to one of my friends. Otherwise, good looking gloves.

I bought these specifically as they were cost effective and I didn’t really need something that was going to be used every day for a season of skiing. With that said, for those who use ski gloves for a few weeks a year or even a month, these are a fantastic option.

What I really liked was the construction. There is a drawstring to close off the outer shell to your jacket that is super easy to adjust even with gloves on. There are also two long loop straps that are incredibly useful in pulling the shell out from under the glove if it gets trapped. This makes putting the gloves on properly and ensuring a snow proof joint really easy- in fact, easier than any gloves I have had. Next there is a strap that adjusts very easy around the wrist to ensure the glove is secure. Both tightening and releasing this strap is simple, and can be done with the gloves on.

I skied in 18 degree F weather with winds gusting to 30 mph. There was fine powder and pellet snow flying everywhere. The other four people in my group, some of which had name brand gloves, all had snow infiltration and cold hands. Mine were toasty. Also, and I did find this strange, my hands were not sweaty. They were warm and dry.

I can’t talk to how the gloves would perform in temperatures much lower than 19F as I have not experienced those temperatures yet. However, there was not a time where I felt any cold in my hands, whereas my coat (Columbia rated as wind proof and good to -10) and snow pants (northface) were all penetrated by the cold winds, and while it wasn’t uncomfortable, they were at their limits IMHO.

I hope they hold up, they seem well constructed, and overall heavy duty. I would buy them again, and plan to do that as I replace some of my children’s gloves. They fit well, and as expected. I am giving them 5 stars until I experience anything to convince me they deserve otherwise.

The only downside I had was the material used in the palm seemed to be lower quality. It all worked, but the material there was diffferent than other gloves.

I bought these gloves ($20) for a ski trip to Taos, NM in early February. These gloves fit well, kept my hands/fingers warm the entire day. Now granted, it was a warmer day, and my hands were so warm that I did have to remove them at times (like on the lift) so that my hands did not get too sweaty. I put them on an off quite a bit throughout the day, and only a couple of times did the liner move a bit to make the fingers have trouble going in. That normally happened when I was in a hurry with sweaty hands, but then I would try it again and my fingers went right in on the second try. The only time my fingers got slightly chilly was at the very end of the day when the sun was going down. They also have straps that you can loop around your wrists, but I actually used a small carabiner to clip them to my coat.

I had a great customer experience from Tough Outdoors. Using the recommended measuring technique, my hand measures 8.25 in. so I bought the medium. They fit snug, but not uncomfortable. Many might say 'like a glove'. But for me, skiing temps are unpredictable so I like to have room for a glove liner, just in case. I contacted Tough Outdoors and they took care of me quickly, rushing out a size large. I just had an epic day skiiing, yes in April, and the gloves worked great. I really like the wrist strap since I'm always messing with something on the chair lift. The temps were in the mid 20's and my fingers were plenty warm. These gloves are a great value.

These are as warm as other gloves I wear that were considerably more expensive. They appear to be very well made and designed. I do not know how waterproof they are but after using them for two days in the snow there has been no dampness getting through, Normally i wear size large; and they dimensions listed conformed to this size but the gloves were a little snug; perhaps the fingers could have been a little longer and this AM I had some difficulty getting my pinkie inserted as the lining had pulled out a bit. Will see if this is a continual problem; if so I might have to do a little prep before putting them on each day.
Overall, for the price, purchasing these gloves are a no-brainer. I can highly recommend them and would buy another pair again if needed.

So far so good I used them on my commute in -7F (-21C) and my fingers were way warmer than with my old gloves. Pretty happy with my purchase and the quality of the gloves. I must warn you that the gloves are pretty bulky but that is to be expected. 2 days in a row with warm fingers makes me a happy man. Normal walking commute is 15-20 min to the train every day in the morning and back in the evening. It is in Chicago's blustery cold and wind. Have I worn better gloves? Yes at 4X the price point. These are exactly what I need and I think would hold up well on a good ski vacation too.

Shane Field

These gloves have been a life saver. I have a 15-20 minute motorcycle ride (40-65mph) to work and these are the best I've found so far. I noticed around 15 degrees F my hands still are very very cold, and at 5 degrees my hands were numb. But around 30 degrees is where these out perform anything else. I used on a 600 mile trip in Feb. In 30-50 degrees, hands still got cold but it wasn't unbearable. Just warmed them up every 90 minutes when I stopped to warm the rest of me up 😁. They are pretty bulky, but I can still operate my controls.

Anything above 45-50 I will not wear these because my hands will sweat way too much. Definitely worth the money for winter riding though. Way way way warmer than the "warmest" gloves Harley Davidson sells, which are good for 40+ degrees, but numb hands below that.

I haven't tried these in the snow yet, but I suspect they will do great! they are warm and look to be made of quality material. They came in time for my ski trip this weekend, so I will update if I experience any issues. So far, I am impressed...

Took these out this weekend in the icy snow with the kids and they held up pretty well. I'll be skiing with them this weekend and will really put them up to the test but for now I am very happy with the quality and value

Bought these for my wife's first experience in Michigan winter. She loves them. Well insulated, two levels of cinching, and even a zippered pouch on the back of each palm to insert chemical heater packets. You do, however, don't get full range of dexterity and contact like with thinner models. These are perfect for long, regular exposure or even high wind exposure like snowmobiling.

I love them. they are exactly what i was looking for. My hands and feet are constantly cold, so i've always preferred mittens to gloves, and i like having liners. I had my last similar mittens for over 10 years and finally had to admit that it was time to get new ones.
I love:
- the longer wrist protection that can go either inside or outside of my jacket sleeve
- the thumbs - 1 has a soft patch to wipe noses or goggles, 1 has a small hard plastic squeegee type thing thats great for when you have ice or snow on your goggles
- draw string tighteners
- liners with grip and touchscreen pads.

I know i probably sound like a commercial, but i'm just excited i found mittens that were actually as good as my old ones which no longer exist, and they weren't really tooooo expensive. I thought it was reasonable at $35 compared with the equivalent much more expensive mittens. I was comparing it to http://www.amazon.com/Dakine-01200350-BLACK-XL-Mens-Titan-Mitt/dp/B00EDK490A the titan, which is identical except for the missing heat pack pocket, and the insert being "DK Dry waterproof" vs Gore-Tex. I'm not even really sure what the insert is since the Insulation, Palm, Shell, Lining, and removable liner glove are all identical. I figured it wasn't worth the extra $ and think i'll just spray it with another layer of waterproofing spray and call it good.

Oh and at the advice of the other reviewers i did order a size up. I'm a man with average to somewhat larger hands. I ordered the extra large and they feel good, but i knew i didn't want them to be too snug.

Liam Ahearn

For years I had tried a few pairs of fairly expensive gloves from brands like EMS and North Face, but once the temps dropped into the 20s and below, they just didn't keep my fingers warm. After last winter here in the Boston area, where we got 9+ feet of snow and were stuck in a deep freeze for what seemed like an eternity (the last bits of snow finally melted in May), I came to the realization that gloves just weren't cutting it and I needed to make the switch to mittens. Smart move.

These Dakine mitts are outstanding. I've been using them for a little over a month and a half through a number of different temperature ranges from below zero to the mid 30s and activities like walking to public transit, shoveling snow and playing in the snow with my daughter. My hands, and most importantly, my fingers were always toasty warm.

I love that these mittens are a 3-in-1 and that I can use just the liners on cool days (33+ degrees or so), just the mittens on colder days (25-32 degrees) and the liner and mitten combo on those really cold days; it allows for a large degree of flexibility without having to over-purchase or over-pack. I also loved the price...at $35, these were an absolute steal. I plan on picking up another pair and have recommended them to several of my friends.

Jesse S.

All the gloves I've ever bought at Target or Walmart have leaked water inside once snow melts on them. Not these mittens. For playing in the snow, I don't think I'll ever go back to gloves. Mittens are way warmer. Sometimes I take these off and just use my hands to build snowballs, as you sometimes need some warmth on the snow to pack them tight. When I put my hands back in the mittens, they warm right back up again.
