I’m an electrician, here’s how to remove the LED lights as taping them will bleed through and you’ll still see them. I can’t be the only one who can’t sleep with any light in the room. This will void the warranty but who cares it’s $40..here we go:

1) remove screws from back as shown in picture one

2) remove circuitboard mounting screws as shown in picture two

3) take pliers and grab the LED lights. Twist them by the base to pull them out of the socket, if you try by the top the lights will crack and make it more difficult.

Each LED will have a positive and a negative small wire that attaches them, make sure those two wires are not touching..you can clip them off with cutters or bend them away from each other with tweezers as long as the wires that used to connect the LEDs are not touching or are clipped off there is no hazard for frying the circuitboard.

Reattach circuit board and put the back plate back on and you’re in for a good night sleep.

Good, steady construction. Big enough bottom and weighs enough that wrestling cats will not knock over. Puts out good volume of air so AC can be set higher, costs less. I like a "white noise" effect in my bedroom and this fan is just right - - not too loud, not too quiet. Will now buy another one for 2nd bedroom.

The fan was easy to assemble and is very quiet. I haven't used the remote control or timers yet.
The best part is how quiet the fan is compared to others I have purchased!

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD! FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING SACRED AND THE CHILDREN, DON'T BUY THIS MONSTROSITY.

I sleep with a fan on at night. I like the breeze. This thing has 3 settings. Windstorm, Gale, Tornado. I have an old Emerson from 70 years ago that puts out hella wind. I never thought I would find anything that could match it. Yeaaaah.... I turned this thing on high like my old one.... laid down, got blown out of the bed and across the floor.

You were warned.

Powerful fan, even on low. I like the noise it makes to lull me to sleep. Just the right amount of noise. Oscillates without being jerky, as some fans are. I would buy again. Attractive design. It does not come with a remote, which is not important to me, since it sits right by the bed, to move air at night. If it had a remote, I would probably lose it anyway. We are currently keeping tracking of 7 remotes, 8 chargers for computers and phones, two iPhones, an iPad, two computers, 5 cats, among other things. I don't need an extra remote in my life at the moment, thank you very much.

Excellent fan for the price. All the oscillating pedestal fans I have ever owned were Laskos, and none of them have let me down. This 18" fan moves plenty of air even on its low setting, but if you need gale-force wings in your home, the high setting can help you out. Of course, it will sound like a turboprop engine is next to your head, but you'll have plenty of air flow. (The low setting emits a totally forgivable hum, kind of nice if you like white noise while you sleep.) My fiancée used it daily over the summer (and I occasionally in the evenings) and we never had any issues. If it makes an excess of noise or the blade seems to shake during operation, you may just need to tighten the cap screw, as I did.

Dallas Electronics Fan

No issues assembling/disassembling compared to any other fan I have experience with. If you've ever disassembled a fan for cleaning purposes, you'll have no problems with this. It's only slightly more difficult to disassemble/reassemble than a full size Vornado due to Vornado's snap-in-place cage.

That said, I understand why some might have issues with this. It's a two channel strap that the front and rear cages have to line up in and then be connected at the botton with a screw. It's not a fundamentally flawed design but does require some technique. It's a very common design that many other manufacturers use.

Pro tip: when removing and re-installing the cage, do not completely remove the screw. Loosen it enough so that it lightly snaps onto the rear cage, snap the front cage into its channel and then tighten the screw. The first time you try this, it may be aggravating. The 2nd or 3rd time you do this, it's a more fluid process.

Removing the Vornado cage is a bit simpler. Using a screw driver, *gently* lever the snap clip down until it disengages. This is done from the rear of the fan cage. Repeat for the other snap clips and you're done. Reinstalling is only a matter of lining up the clips and pushing in to place. It will be obvious when all clips are fully inserted.

The downside to the Vornado cage design is that the plastic snaps that hold the cage in place can break and they are almost unfixable. One of my full size floor standing Vornados had this issue. Epoxying it together worked for a time but didn't last. With one of the snaps broken, the cage will vibrate and make noise. If you strip the screw that holds the cage in place with this fan, a few pennies at a hardware store will take care of it.

I can't speak to the dual blade design moving more air (CFM) than a similar fan without the smaller blade but it may add some turbulence which might result in broader coverage. I guess. Good for larger rooms if so. Compared to a full size floor standing Vornado, this doesn't move as much air but the difference isn't as dramatic as the price difference might suggest.

The remote works well and has good range. My Vornados don't have remotes. This fan oscillates very quietly. The Vornados I use don't oscillate but according to Vornado, their design doesn't require oscillation to provide full coverage. I'm not sure I completely buy into this, at least not in the 'real world' sense. Regardless, if aimed well, the Vornados work as advertised and are very effective.

The up-down angle adjustment is firm and smooth. Height adjustment is easily configurable although a larger knob would help with loosening and torquing it in place. The fan feels relatively stable and secure on it's stand. Probably slightly less likely to topple compared to floor standing Vornados.

It's programmable and has a 'nature' and 'sleep' mode. The nature and sleep modes are very similar in that they vary the fan speed over a programmed period of time. Sort of a slow moving, rolling wave.

For those that use fans for white noise/tinnitus masking as much as for air movement, this works well enough. The second and smaller blade probably adds a bit of mid-range white noise which in combination with the larger blade works well for masking environmental sound.

For tinnitus sufferers, large Vornado's do a better job of masking. If masking environmental sound and/or tinnitus is not a reason for buying a fan, most will probably prefer this fans quieter operation.

While I prefer full size Vornado fans for their powerfull output, sound masking capabilty and for the way they look, I'm very happy with this purchase. For about the cost of one full size Vornado floor standing fan, you can buy almost four of these. In absolute terms, I consider the floor standing Vornados to be the better product but at ~35 bucks and delivered to my door step, this is an undeniable product. Five stars..

Assembled in minutes without having to look at directions. It's quiet and puts out a nice airflow. The 3 year extended warranty plan for $1.94 is a no brainer if you keep your fan running like we do. The weak part of fans is always the oscillating mechanism and this one seems to be running smooth as silk 60 days into use. I sell at least 1 fan with a broken oscillating mechanism at our garage sale every year and it's nice to know I won't be doing that for at least 3 years!!!

Bought 2 of these, as hot weather is inevitably on it's way. I have central air in my home, but trying to cut down on bills & use other means to
keep cool on the more mild summer days ahead or even early fall nights when it's still warm but not enough to warrant the a/c & you want to sleep comfortably. I also happen to like the soothing "white noise" it provides.

Anyway, got the first one of two I ordered (still waiting on the second) & after assembling it (EASY), plugging it in & trying it out - I was instantly blown away (no pun intended) by how strong it is! Glad I didn't listen to the negative reviews & purchased this fan after all, as I'm extremely satisfied & pleased with the strength of the output of air it provides. It literally feels like air conditioning, on it's highest setting & I got so chilly, that I turned it off after less than 5 minutes into it's test run. Put it back on & have it going on it's lowest setting now & even on low it's much more powerful than all my previous fans on their highest settings (including one from QVC I wasted $50 on last summer. This fan is literally more powerful on it's lowest setting than the QVC one is on it's highest - NO JOKE!) This fan definitely has a kick to it. I'm sitting here as I write this, being more than sufficiently cooled on it's lowest setting.

Definitely glad I got 2 & for $19 each, it was a steal. Just saw the price is now $34, I'm lucky I got mine when I did, as just 3 days ago they were only $19 each!!

I agonized over how many stars to give this product. In the end, it gets the highest rating from me because it totally exceeded my expectations.

This is a cheap fan. For twenty bucks, I was expecting it to be hamster-powered, but it actually has an electric motor and plugs into an AC outlet and everything. I was expecting a kluge, but assembly was a breeze with parts fitting together surprisingly well.

Yes, it's cheaply made, but it's just sturdy enough to get the job done and avoid being a hazard. Dare I say it -- plastic is not always a bad thing, and this thing is quite possibly brilliantly engineered if the assignment was, in large part, to keep down cost. The fact that the assembled fan is so light is actually a bonus -- it makes it very easy to move around as needed.

I think the thing is plenty steady on its feet. Could it be toppled by badly behaved children? I suppose. But badly behaved children don't deserve fans.

It moves a good amount of air. I don't use anything but the lowest setting 95 percent of the time... ergo, it's quiet.

Do I wish the thing extended a tad taller? Yes. Do I wish the head angle adjustments worked a tad smoother? Yes. Do I wish the thing came with a lifetime warranty? Yes.

But here's the thing: I really can't seriously fault this fan. It goes about its job competently without (sorry) fanfare. Here, I have to boil things down to one set of stars that expresses my overall satisfaction... so it gets five.

I was looking for an inexpensive fan for my basement, for when I exercise. This fan does a nice job -- it oscillates or stays stationary, the way I prefer it; tilts; has a number of speeds; and is surprisingly quiet. I especially like that you can determine the appropriate height of the fan to suit the situation. I'm happy with my purchase.

I was looking for a loud fan, odd request you may think but I like fan noise when I sleep. This thing does the job and on the lowest setting it is not overpoweringly loud but you know it is there. It is a lightweight piece and assembles easily. It was what I wanted and the price was nice. Now I did put a speed control on it that I had laying around and that did dial it back a bit, winter fan usage is not the best thing but it does circulate the warmer air. The lowest setting is more like a medium on some other fans so take this into account.

I am simply amazed by this Lasko pedestal fan! When I opened the box . I was at first a little disappointed to see that it was completely disassembled and all plastic except for the pole and motor. I thought to myself "How can this plastic fan be of any quality?" ... Well this first impression sure fooled me!! The assembly took all but a few minutes ... and when I turned it on ... the air output is EXTREME! But in a very good way! This has more output than those fancy $300 Dyson blade-less fans.I have A/C but during those Spring months where the temperatures are still a little unpredictable .. I use this beast to cool my rooms. I know some people complain about the loudness of the fan .. but this is pretty normal with any fan that has high speeds. I enjoy the sound of fans especially while I am sleeping since it drowns out other noises. The extension of the pole is very easy and there are NO rattling noises with this fan! The power cord is on the short side when you heighten the fan ... just throw a power extension cord on it. I will be looking out for other Lasko products!!

Lindsey

As cold natured of a person as I am I get ungodly hot when I fall asleep so not only is a fan a must have to keep those demons at bay but I need something that screams at me while I slumber and this bad boy makes it happen. Between tinnitus and anxiety there’s just no way I can fall asleep in total silence and the tv is a major distraction. Those fancy tower fans are awesome, they blow like the arctic wind- but they hardly purr at all. THIS monster here though.. throw that sucker on 3 at night and it sounds like a jet engine firing up right beside your head. It perfect! Even the lowest setting makes for a pleasant distraction during the day. The only thing I dislike about it is the HUGE base, it makes it hard to find a good spot that’s out of the way but with the stress reducing noice production this fella puts out I could care less if it was attached to a 10’ cement brick I’m still getting my sleep at night.

watch out, because if your looking for a fan to literally freeze you to death in 100 degree temperatures, THIS IS THE FAN, ITS GREAT AND WONDERFUL !!!!!!!!!!! this is the coldest, not coolest, but the coldest fan, largest fan blade and grill, with a very, very stout and sturdy thick frame, ive ever seen, especially for only 18 inches.

Violet

I’ve had this fan for 8 months now, and I think it’s my favorite fan I’ve ever purchased. It’s very easy to assemble out of the box, disassemble for cleaning (necessary when you live with a long haired cat), and reassemble - if you notice a dip in this fan’s performance, it probably just needs to be cleaned. That’s what prompted this review, I noticed it wasn’t quite as strong as it used to be so I cleaned the dust off the housing and blades and it’s good as new. It’s powerful, it’s quiet, the remote is a nice touch. I took one star off the “Remote Control” rating category just because I wish the remote could control the oscillation feature as well as the speed and timers, but that’s not a big gripe for me. Overall, I have no regrets. It’s a great fan.

Stacy H

Love this fan! Quiet but has a strong "wind" that is felt! Unfortunately we had an issue with ours that we purchased in Feb. but this amazing company stood behind their warranty and it was an easy replacement and transactional process. Would definitely buy another!!

Love! This fan six or seven years ago I bought the early model tower fan and Boy did we get use out of it, we would leave it on when we left in the morning for the dog on hot days and use it at nights to help the A/C move the air around, very good fan and it's adjustable to your desired height, second one in seven tough years of use.

glen b.

This fan was exactly what we were looking for. 1) We have a king size bed and it takes up a large percentage of our bedroom so we needed a thin fan to allow passage around the room. This was perfect for that compared to a standard farm. 2) We needed a fan that was tall enough to provide air over our bed. Standard tower fans are typically 40-42 inches tall and so we don’t feel any air when in our bed. This one is tall enough and provides a beautiful cool air. 3) We like the white noise of a fan but it has to be a continuous sound without any weird mechanical sounds that some finds produce. This fan is a perfect “fan sound” that is consistent and very unobtrusive. 4) Obviously we wanted a fan to actually....blow. And this fan does that very very well. Highly recommend.

TheDeLay

I am very sensitive to heat and need this fan to help me sleep. It has a very low/quiet setting that works well. I do not like it pointed directly at my face, but at a distance of about 3,' it is perfect. It is much quieter than my white noise generator, which I still need even though this is running. Obviously, the higher the settings, the louder it is.

I love the sleep timer. It is nice that it will shut off on its own. I do not use the circulate function. It does have lights on the top that are easy to see, but they do not seem too bright at night to me. They might bother others that are sensitive to light in a dark room.

It's the right height to cool the top of my bed. It can go some higher, but I don't need it. It does beep when you push any button, which can annoy anyone nearby trying to sleep.

I'm happy with it.

Initially the fan didn’t look like much and the blades seemed pretty small. However after a few days of use it’s a pretty nice fan. Better than nice actually. I only keep it on the low setting because the higher settings would blow my cat off the bed. Awesome fan! This will definitely keep you cool in the summer months. Very nice.

Some people said it’s noisy. I wouldn’t describe it as noisy but it certainly isn’t super quiet, it sounds like a fan. But for me that’s the whole purpose of the thing. To sleep. The sound of the fan puts me right out. And while I am working from my home office I have another downstairs, it lulls me right to sleep every time during my afternoon naps, otherwise it’s a awesome wind blower. Nice.

The remote is simple, solid and doesn’t feel like a piece of cheap garbage. It came with batteries which is cool. I think it would be also cool if they put like some surprises in the box like maybe candy 🍭

It's funny, the negative reviews for this fan being too loud were the reason I picked it. I can't sleep in a quiet room, and this fan makes sure that I can't hear anything but fan! Love it!

Robert Foss

If you can get past the lackluster remote (most times you have to be close enough to the fan that you can just manually turn it on/off) this fan is leaps and bounds above what I needed. The noise level is mitigatable, it's almost too quiet for white noise while you sleep. Additionally the fan moves a considerable amount of air. With every penny I'm considering getting one more for another room of the house durring the summer months. Set up was easy and even though I was worried about the stability or strength of each individual piece, once it's out together it is remarkably sturdy. I mean if it can stand up to a two year old lab with no regard to the power of his tail it can stand up to most anything within reason!

I LOVE THIS FAN. I’m very picky about my fans. I need a good level of white noise and it needs to be strong enough to keep me cool as I live in Miami and my AC is not the best. I previously purchased a tower fan from Holmes and quickly learned it does not have the level of power and cooling I need that I find in this Pelonis fan. I love all the different levels (1-12), true cooling starts at 4 for me. Gets pretty loud at 12 but not very loud if you like white noise like me, and it COOLS. I love it at 9/10. Works great with the remote which was a big selling point for me. The screen displaying the numbers is bright and I thought I would have to tape over it but luckily the display turns off after less than a minute. I’m not sure how long the timer is but it’s gotta be more than 9 hours because this runs practically all day and all night and only a few times has it turned off out of no where (unless I set the timer by accident), but with the remote you can turn it back on no problem! My biggest issue would be that the remote is white while the fan is black 😂

This fan is simple and practical. It pushes out a fabulous breeze on every setting and easy to assemble. I've read a lot of frustration about assembly so thought I'd try to help.

Ironically, this fan doesn't come with a 'tiny bag of parts' because they're already attached. You have 4 things you must unscrew before assembly.

1) Right-angle bolt: unscrew this piece completely from the bottom of the pole. Attach pole through hole of the base, then screw right- angle bolt all the way back in.
2)Tighten knob (this is the only part you'll need a screwdriver): this is the part that I see many people skipping on step two. The instructions don't make it clear so it's easy to miss. Before you attach the upper part of fan in to the poll, there is a screw on the back that must be loosened with a screwdriver. The instructions show the location but refer to it as the 'knob'. Attach parts and use screwdriver to tighten screw back in as tight as you can. This step is vital. Your fan (the pole) will never be secured otherwise.
3) 1st lock nut: there are two. One for the back grill and one for the blade. You'll first remove the one for the blade. Righty-Tighty, Lefty-Lucy DOES NOT apply here. Do the exact opposite (counter clockwise) or else you will tighten this piece so much to the point of breaking it or not getting it of at all.
4) 2nd lock nut: unscrew this part, attach your back grill and immediately screw lock back on.

From there, attach your blade and screw lock nut for blade back on. Finally, attach front grill. Hope this helps.
