Perfect to soak my feet in!

I needed a small litter box for a 2lb kitten that would not take up too much space inside the pet play pen that we were using temporarily to keep him isolated from our older and much larger kitten. This litter box has held up well over the last month; the sides are low enough for the little guy to easily climb in and out of, and it is still large enough for the kitten to use now that he is 4lb. It is also not TOO small to scoop - it is about 1.5x wider than the litter scooper. My Maine Coon kitten who is 10 months old and almost 18lb thankfully has not tried to use this tiny litter box.

My adult cat has plenty of room in front of the litter box for playing or lounging. (She also has a ferret hammock in the top half of the carrier that she loves). It's easy to slide the pan to the front of the carrier for cleaning. Litter does not appear to stick to the plastic (I am using Ever Clean). She doesn't spend much time in the carrier, it's mostly her time-out box when she's getting crazy, (and a few days after her spay job), but she also likes to be in it on her own. I like knowing there is a litter box handy, even if it is a little small for the typical adult cat, but she's not one of those who throws litter all over the place. Then again she's in a very tiny space, and that may be helping keep her from tossing it a lot. By the way, her water Is in a cage bowl attached to the door of the carrier and up high where she can drink her water from the hammock, and not be able to get litter or her toys into the water dish. A dispenser of doggie poop bags hanging on the door completes the temporary living arrangement.

Do easy to set up for the two little kittens that are new to our home.

I bought a covered litter box but my 3 month old kitten is afraid to go in it. I was using a regular pan and he was constantly kicking litter out as soon as I got it up as if it was his favorite game. So this litter box has been a godsend and a great compromise. While I still hope he will one day use a covered box, the high sides along with a litter mat in the front keep him from flinging litter everywhere. I like that it came with liners. He shreds the liners (even with trimmed nails...sigh) but the bags hold up okay enough that the box stays cleaner. I didn't need the bowls and scoop but I thought it was a nice touch...Might be nice if you take your cat on vacation and you don't want to transport the used litter scoop and the every day food and water bowls.

Comes with litter box, litter liners, scooper, double food bowl (for both wet and dry food), and a water bowl. For the price, it's a steal. I'm extra happy that they included the double feeder AND a water dish, so both wet and dry food can be served. The liners work pretty well, I just wish they had a drawstring or something to close x them up. The bowls could be better if they were tin/metal, but all in all... this is perfect for starting out. Would buy again!

Overall, I love the product. My older cat was having difficulty getting inside her old litter box and began going outside the box. This one she is able to step in easily. The only downfall is she mainly is peeing in the crevice which is difficult to clean. I have to use paper towels to soak it up and sometimes the pee goes through the handles. After soaking the pee up, I lift up the pan to clean it better. Currently, I put a pee pad underneath and now I’m trying to put as much litter as I can in the crevice. However, the litter falls through the handles at the bottom. I don’t know if I’m using it correctly. My other idea is maybe to put a litter bag over it to cover the crevice. I do have it in a half and half position so it’s high on the back and low in the front. This helps so too much litter doesn’t get kicked out. I purchased a mat that is suppose to catch the litter. I’m hoping this will help w some of the litter that gets kicked out. This does not bother me though because I think it is unrealistic to have a low end litter entry with a cat and expect litter not to be kicked out. I do like the smooth inside of the box because it makes scooping the litter a lot easier and it comes up cleanly. Overall, I’m satisfied because my cat is actually able to get in and out of the litter box to use it. I just wish maybe there was a way where I didn’t have to soak up the pee from the crevice. This may just be a me and my cat problem because of her difficulty walking.

It’s low collapsing sides are perfect for our 11 year old cat with 3 legs. With only one back leg and limiting bounce this litter box is awesome

I foster kittens and my biggest challenge has always been finding a litter box they can get in and out of at a young age. This box fits the bill! Works great, easy to clean and it grows with them. Highly recommend!

I originally got this because I was looking for the shallowest litter box I could find for my 4-week old bottle baby kittens. I figured I wouldn't use the plastic dish and the toys were just a nice bonus. Well, the box is perfect for them and they took to it immediately. It also turned out that the small double-well dish is perfect for teaching them about how to eat solid food. It holds about 3 oz in each well, which means I can fill it up with a small amount of baby wet and dry food and they can access it easily. They also play with the ball and mouse frequently. I would recommend for anyone with very young baby cats just learning adult skills. Obviously they will need a bigger box quickly, and metal dishes are considered more sanitary, but at this price you won't feel bad about replacing either.

This is the PERFECT starter kit for my two little kittens, it’s very sturdy and durable and I love how easy it is to clean! I got one in pink and blue.

The only problem with the starter kit is the scooper. The holes are a bit too fine, It makes it a bit hard to scoop without taking half your litter with you.

Now that the negative is out of the way, this is an awesome starter kit for someone with a 2+ month kitten. I bought this the night I got my kitten, because I didn't really expect to be getting a kitten, my sister just brought home three kittens and said I could have one. I didn't complain, but also I needed to get supplies FAST. Luckily, I already have three grown cats, so I had most supplies on hand.

By the grace of God, the delivery was next-day so I was good to go. I made a makeshift litter box overnight and it worked fine. The next day I set up his big cage with his new pink stuff, he drank and ate out of it just fine. I included a picture with him in it for scale, but he's also a month older now.

I will be purchasing a larger litter box soon, as my baby boy is growing up to be a big kitty. He loves the little pink ball toy that came with it. Which is great, kittens love to play so I'm glad it was included in the starter kit.

I recommend this to owners of 2+ month kittens that don't already have all the supplies you need!

I really like this very inexpensive cat litter pan. It has higher sides to keep litter in but a relatively low point of entry for my elderly cat. When I needed to get new litter boxes recently, I was happy to see this company was still making them. Highly recommend.

Had a 13 yr old cat diagnosed with lymphoma. Wasn’t going to have more than a few months left on this earth. He was a gentle giant Maine Coon As he got more ill and thinner, it was hard for him to step up into his regular covered litter box. We got this lower height with dipped entry uncovered box hoping it would be easier for him to get in and out of and it was. Worked exactly as we had hoped for the intent when buying. He’s gone now but we will donate the box to an animal rescue/shelter we got our new girl from. Recycle and help others in need.

Bought this because my ferrets kept pooping over the top of the basic litter boxes. This has stopped that totally! It's bigger than I thought it would be, but is great for ferrets, and I'm going to be buying a second one! Definitely recommend for ferrets!!

So, it's hard to wax poetic about litter boxes. They're shapely containers of plastic that your cat poops in. There's really only so much you can say about them. Does it look nice? Yes. Yes it does. I don't feel weird about it being in my living room because it looks fancy, as far as litter boxes go. Does my cat poop in it? Yup. I have a finicky kitty. Finicky kitty likes to only poop if they think no one is watching. This litter box, with the dome and the steps allows my kitty to pretend like no one is watching. Or maybe they are just pretending they are pooping in the Taj Mahal of litter boxes. I don't care. They poop in it instead of in less opportune places. The litter box is not terrible to clean up. This is the second one I have owned because after many, many years of owning the first one, we reached the point where it was less annoying to buy a new one than to clean the new one. That's not a diss on this litter box. I don't even want to discuss how long that first litter box lasted before I felt the need to replace it.

Here's the short form review: If your cat wants to poop in a covered box, this is a pretty great covered box. It will last you a while, it looks kind of alright as far as litter boxes go, and there are stairs so your cat can pretend they're in, I don't know, Santorini, or wherever cats would like to vacation for their poops. I've never been a cat, but this is what I would want to poop in.

Well worth the price. My cat can easily enter and exit. He used without hesitation. He is a big boy at 30lbs and he has no troubles using his new box(he's a rescue, came to me overweight, don't judge) a big bonus is my dog can no longer help himself to cat made tootsie rolls. I did not bother with box liner. I've never been a fan of them. My cat might be warped but he doesn't like to do his business in the dark so I've always used a small motion activated light in his enclosed boxes. This box is considerably darker inside than others. So if you have a warped cat like mine a light will fix that. With the shape of this box its going to be a must for using scoopable litter. If you're not a fan of scooping than I probably wouldn't recommend this box as it would be awkward to handle with dirty litter and trying to dump I for see a nasty mess. See pics I've shown how added the light.

Cat approved, dog disapproved.... Mommy delighted

I love this cat box! The cats have to go up some little stairs and to the right to get to the litter area. This keeps the smell at bay and helps keep the litter in the box . There are little nubbies on the stairs that help get the litter off of the cats feet so that it's not tracked onto the floor as bad. Some litter still gets tracked out onto the mat that we keep in front of the litter box but not near as bad as it was when we had the regular covered litter box! There is also a filter in the top of the box to help with the odor but it's just a thin flat little filter so I put a charcoal filter on top of the box to help with any odor since the box is in the laundry room and it's a pretty small room. We now have 4 cats and we have multiple litter boxes but this one is used the most and it is large enough to hold all of their waste, without stinking up the house, even if we're not able to clean it during the day. I prefer to clean it several times a day but sometimes we're just not home. The lid is also easy to remove and put back on so even our 8 year old can help with the cleanings. I would definitely recommend this Petmate Booda Dome Cleanstep Cat Box!

I just ask myself why I didn't get this sooner. Bought it for my rabbit (yes, bunnies use litter boxes/can be potty trained) and it does great job of containing her litter and hay. She's a digger, so the high sides work great. She's a medium-sized rabbit, about 6lbs and has enough room to circle around. Had to remove the flapping door -- bunnies don't like feeling trapped, plus it doesn't swing very flexibly. But she loves it sans the door and hops in and out very freely. Easy to clean/wipe down. The cream color (off-white) works great because it matches with anything. Probably would not be a fan of the other colors!

The cats I had loved these too. But I had to take the door and filter off.
In their case, the filter kept all odors inside the box making it unusable under my cats’ opinions.
Locking snaps are not strong or reliable at all if you want to lift the box with litter sand or a cat or a chicken. Easy to solve by adding small zip ties.
In my case, I have many of these around the barn for my chickens!
I found out by accident that they loved to get in the box to lay their eggs and they make a cozy environment when they get broody.

Extremely easy to clean, these makes a great choice for my chickens.
And as light as they are, I can put them on shelves and screw the base to a board for my chickens to have a raised laying nest.
Unbeatable price compared to other nesting boxes.

And the same qualities apply for cats although I don’t have any at this moment but did foster and own several of them not too long ago.

Corpus Delicti

This is my 2nd purchase of this litter box. The first is now 4 1/2 yrs. old and is still like new. It is a nice deep box and my 2 adult cats use it with no problems. The plastic seems to have a nice coating that makes the box easy to clean, and here I'm talking about a complete cleaning once or twice a year to remove dust, etc. It also helps in preventing wet litter from sticking to the bottom and sides on a daily basis, which is a problem I had with a previous litter box. I love the clips that fasten the top to the bottom as they are easy and quick to fasten and unfasten. That said, make sure that the top part is seated properly on the bottom part in order for the clips to function correctly. I scoop twice a day so often I don't even bother fastening the clips, and the top stays seated with no problem.
I removed the plastic door and set it aside, although my cats didn't have a problem getting used to the door. I find just having the cover on contains the odor well enough. I would disagree with reviews that say the box is flimsy. I would say the plastic is a medium weight, not overly flimsy nor overly thick. Van Ness makes an extra large box, the CP7, for those that find this box is too small but I find it a perfect size for an adult cat while not taking up too much space.
I paid $13 for the box that is 4 1/2 yrs. old and $10 for the new one. At those prices, I am totally satisfied with these litter boxes.

I liked how the scooper, food/water bowl and mat came with the box. The box is a little flimsy, but I knew that it was only temporary until my kitten was big enough to use the big litter box. My kitten is about 4 months old now and he still uses his "baby" box that we have set up in my daughter's room and he still uses the food/water bowl. But he is transitioning to the big litter box just fine. This was a great starter kit for a baby kitten. I am happy with it.

Got this for our baby six week old kitten. It is the perfect size for her as she is able to get in and out with no difficulty. Very easy to empty and clean and I love the litter mat because it keeps excess litter out of her playpen. Shipping was very fast! Would definitely buy again and will recommend!

We got out kitten for Christmas and needed something not expansive and small to fit in our kitchen corner. This worked perfectly, out kitten is already 5 month but we still use it cause it works so why not. It’s affordable too so if you looking for something inexpensive this is the right fit for your pet.

This is the perfect size for small kittens five weeks and up. Easy for them to get in and out without difficulty. Worth the price for everything that came with it.

Tim Baker

We rescued two kittens from the back yard so they wouldn't be scrappy backyard cats.this was a perfect size for them! Glad they knew what it was for since they were living in a woodpile outside.

Janice Stanford

Pro, It was perfect to get for kittens.
Con, the scoop was so flimsy and cheap I threw it away and used a sturdy one I had. Kittens kept peeing on the mat around the litter box so I threw it away and use puppy pee pads instead. Kittens don’t pee on this. It also came with little white grates that came off whenever the litter box was used. I threw them away also. The small box works ok now.

We bought several of these over the years. We have 3 special needs (Cerebellar Hypoplasia) cats that have severe mobility issues, and litter box use has always been the biggest challenge. This litter box has 2 advantages for mobility challenged cats - low entrance for ease of getting in and out, and high sides to help them standing without falling. We have tried just about every litter boxes out there and this has been the only one all my girls were able to use.

A. Churilla

I love this litter box! I originally bought it because it was the only low entry litter box that I could find for my very young kitten. Then I saw pictures of people with canopies, and knew I had to get my hands on one. I called the company and ordered a canopy ( I pretended like mine had broke ). It is a very attractive litter box and super easy to scoop with the canopy. Even though the company has stopped producing the canopy, the gentleman on the phone told me they were in the process of designing a new canopy. I hope thats true.

We’ve tried 5 different litter systems to date since getting our two persian kittens. Our female didn’t care about anything and adapted well but the male was picky and was having some inappropriate voiding. After watching him closely for a while I noticed he seemed to avoid our current Omega Paw box because of the tall edge he had to climb over to get into the box. He is a very petite cat, now at a year old still under 8lbs and about two lbs smaller and a little shorter than his sister as he was the runt. After watching the way he would move his legs (which was almost like a high step and looked uncomfortable) and how he seemed to want to dig but not have the space to do that in our current box I began researching and landed on these. After ordering I put them on the table for a few days to let him check it out. He climbed in and laid in them a few times, and I saw he had none of the same issues entering and exiting the box as our other one. We then replaced the old box with these and filled each with half a 25lb box of litter. Just enough to be appropriate for voiding depth but not overfilled to create a mess like some reviewers I saw pictures from. Within minutes he ran into the box and used it. He walked right into it without the awkward high stepping, did his business, spun around and dug for a few minutes. I clean the boxes morning and night and I notice he goes more frequently now so i think a lot of his inappropriate voiding before was from avoiding the litter box and holding it until he couldn’t wait any longer. We haven’t had any other incidents since switching but we haven’t really tested that either by leaving any towels on the bathroom floor. We haven’t had any problems with litter being kicked everywhere like reported- I think that’s a combo of overfilling and maybe too large of a cat for the box. We have a litter mat outside the box and it isn’t catching anything extraordinary. I also really appreciate the higher back end because males do tend to make a mess when they potty and the breeder recommended a high side box so this has been great, no messes outside the box. Wonderful product and will recommend again and again!
