I read a few of the reviews and was concerned. Most were 5 star but there were a number of 1 star with similar complaints. I ride 12 miles a day and it’s getting too dark for me to feel safe. So. This. Easy assembly easy mount. First use could not get enough resistance and I feared the fault reported had happened to me. Well nope but I figured what may have happened to others. If the bolt that pushes the roller against the wheel doesn’t seat correctly on the roller then you can tighten it but it won’t improve contact between tire and roller. Seating it correctly so you can see pressure on the tire and bingo. An hour on level 3 kicks my butt and feels like a 14 mile ride - all in top gear. Resistance at higher levels I can sprint but not sustain. I don’t want a permanent mount so the cable for the resistance adjuster is a bit annoying but I found it stays out of the pedal sweep if mounted correctly. All in a great purchase after about 100 miles and still going

I purchased the BalanceFrom Bike Trainer Stand to help get through Arizona's hot summer. I recently started biking as part of my weight loss regimen and it has become a regular part of my daily routine - until the heat hit. Its very difficult to do any kind of serious biking at 120 degrees!

The trainer is a fairly simple device, setting up took about 15 minutes including unboxing. I actually set up with a different bike to try it, and all worked, so i put one of my "good" bikes on and that became my indoor trainer.

The trainer works very well - the only real concern I have is the resistance is not as much as I would like - Im not working quite hard enough, but I think that is a limitation of magnetic resistance.

However it has definitely improved my cycling ability. It has increased my speed on my outside bikes, and kept my strength while I could not get outside.

Definitely recommend getting a trainer-tire if you are mounting a mountain bike - the tire noise and debris from a regular knobby is not really tolerable. The trainer tire definitely makes it better! quieter and seems like it will last for ever.

Good purchase, very happy with it!

The setup for this bike stand is easy as it is pre-assembled and ready to go, entire setup to attach the bike took only a couple of minutes. The quality was much better than I expected, setting up was a breeze, and the unit works as advertised. For those who want to continue to ride but can't during winter weather, this unit is affordable, is of high quality, and easy to set up. Resistance is adjusted with a handlebar mounted switch (lowest resistance 1, highest resistance 6), also by going through your bike's gears also enhances resistance. To remove the bike you remove the handlebar switch, move the red handle which releases the rear axle of the bike, and off you go. I like this unit and would recommend it to others.

So I bought another trainer once upon a time ago and could not figure out how to set it up. It ultimately looked like it wasn't compatible with my bike but who really knows. I ran out of patience with it and just basically gave up on bike trainers. Then I find this wonderful product. I read reviews "set up in 5 minutes" and other good things were said. I thought ok - if it takes them 5, it'll take me 20. And somehow I thought "magnet" meant it connected with magnets, LOL. Silly me. I still don't know what part are magnets, but not relevant at this point (yet anyway). Anyhow, fast forward, I did struggle with hooking up my bike to it - only because the directions (for someone who needs everything spelled out crystal clear with applicable disclaimers) were not that super clear. The images were tiny and not showing what I needed it to show. But yet - I did finally figure it out! I had to replace my release bar for the rear tire with theirs (that they have in the box for you) - and thennn it worked. And then I figured out the quick release - SO COOL. I've done a few HIIT rides on it with my iMac in my front of my bike - so I can watch training videos or scenic routes while I work out. Why do people buy the Peloton when this is just as good for a fraction of the price?! I have the Peloton app on my phone. I can watch the Peloton videos on my iMac (google how to display iPhone with iMac - hint: you use QuickTime Player). TV is in another room that I don't want my bike in, otherwise I'd have gone the route of air displaying it from phone to Apple TV. So the 8 of you in the world this would be applicable to - this will help you. But I digress.

The resistance thing that goes on my handle works great! (doesn't fit on my handle - I just put it around my front gear wire and it stays-ish) For setting: 1 is easy to 6 being the hardest. There was a reviewer that said hers was working in the opposite direction - I think her knob was installed upside down. But mine was just fine - works great. Anyhow it DID take me 20 minutes 🙂 and I love it! I wish I had not given up on trainers that first time long ago, and had just gotten this one right after the first one didn't work out. Now I have a successful winter exercise outlet! Which means no gaining 15lbs over the holiday! WOOT.

Oh wow! Just want I wanted to ride my bicycle indoors. Comes nearly assembled just need to screw on the back piece. This was not hard at all.
Next to put you back wheel up on it very easily hooks on and lock. So easy if you wanted to ride your bicycle outside it can be taken off fast.
I would recommend.

This is just what the description says it is. I have been using it for a few months now and have not had a single problem with it. The noise in my opinion is minimal at best. It's not real loud but it does make a hum as you pedal. I have two cats that do not run away when I ride, but they do walk by causality because they don't understand what is going on. Mine came with a skewered for a quick release wheel which I did not expect, and it came with a stand for the front wheel. I still have to shift gears make for a harder ride, but I think that is how it should be. If you a bike without gears then this is probably won't work for you because you would not get much drag from the roller.

This is what I was looking for and has been working well so far. I'm using it with my ancient, heavy, large frame, mountain bike and it gives me the workout I was hoping it would. The other review will mention that it is loud and there are virtually no instructions for assembling it. Those are both accurate statements. But assembly wasn't difficult to figure out and I'm able to use it in a garage with earbuds for my music so I'll live with it for the price point it offers.

This is a well built magnet trainer. The 6-setting dial increases resistance to give a maximum resistance "feels- like" a 5% grade in a 40 x15 gear. The bike locks securely in place with the supplied steel skewer. The included front wheel riser levels the frame nicely. It is super quiet and resistance is quickly achieved via ratchet style knob. As an owner of 2 types of smart trainers, this Yaheetech Magnetic Bike Trainer trainer satisfies my indoor riding needs. Who am I? 54 year-old road cyclist who pedals <2000km year. BONUS-The You-Tube channel, Bike the World has great videos to make indoor training enjoyable.

Love this trainer! I am 69 years old and started riding again this summer after many years of not riding. I have enjoyed so much building up to rides of 20 to 30 miles, a couple of times a week, with my longest being 51 miles. I wanted some way to be able to continue riding this winter so bought this trainer and am using it while watching bike trail videos on my computer to make it more interesting. (Not quite like having the wind blow through your hair while you ride and enjoy the scenery, but it will get me through to Spring and the outdoors again!) I'm using it with a Kent bike from Walmart with a through bolt axle and nuts, and it works fine. It comes pre-assembled and sets up in minutes, ready to go! The resistance control mounts to the handlebars , making it easy to increase or decrease the effort to pedal without stopping or getting off the bike to adjust it. And the control works great. Some complain about these trainers being loud. I quieted mine by running a strip of duct tape around the tire covering the tread, which quieted it quite a bit; and also set the adjustment screw on the magnetic wheel to just make contact with the tire without a lot of pressure. This made it remarkably quiet and still gives the resistance needed for a good workout. I watched some videos of people setting up their bike trainers and they tightened the screw on the magnetic wheel until it actually indented the tread of the tire a good bit, and this does make it quite loud to use. But that pressure is not necessary. The magnetic wheel with the cable control to the handlebars provides all the resistance you need, so just bring the magnetic wheel to touch the tire with the minimal pressure needed to make the magnetic wheel spin when you pedal. This I am sure will also minimize the wear and tear on the tire that some talk about. I highly recommend this trainer! It's a great value!

Just received this item and put it together. Was going to purchase another seller's product of the same type based on reviews however, after researching, this appears to be the same magnetic trainer and I purchased it at a discount to what appears to be the same product offered by another seller, with very high ratings. The red, quick release handle is great and my bike which is a mountain bike/hybrid made for the road, locked in and I've already tried it. The bike is stable and the product works as described. Also, the product is rated for 265 lbs just like several of the others and the steel magnetic wheel and 5 speed wire control are identical. This is a great product.

Short story: you won't regret choosing this stand.

Long story: I was hesitant to buy an unreviewed product, but the description and images of this stand matched those at a much higher price point, so I risked it. I'm glad I did, as it's durable and sturdy and exactly what I need.

Noise: I have an entry-level roadbike with a slightly treaded wheel, so it makes noise; my mountain bike makes even more noise, so I do believe that it's the tread (all reviews of similar products say the same).

Support: It is good. I'm 150lbs, and it wobbles a bit when I get on. I don't feel like my bike is going to fall over, but when my 250lbs brother-in-law got on it was a bit more dramatic (only while all his weight was to the one side as he swung his leg over).

Quick release: It holds my existing pin (with 15mm nuts) fine, so I didn't replace it with the provided pin. However, the difference between "open" and "closed" on the stand clamp is less than comfortable for that pin, so if I do a lot of switching I'll change my bike to the provided pin.

I apologize, I am very delayed in writing this review. I've had this bike trainer stand for just a bit over a month and a half now and I LOVE it. My beach cruiser bike fits perfectly on this trainer. I don't consider it noisy by any means. It is no different in noise than an actual exercise bike. The tv volume only had to be increased by 2 at most bars. It was super easy to set up. I would recommend this product to anyone. I am sooo excited that I have been able to ride my bike indoors for physical therapy and just to enjoy a ride.

Carrie

Replacing the quick change axle is easy...
I also put a small 10 inch long 2x4 under the front wheel under their platform wheel guide to level off my bike. Very sturdy...I warm up with resistance #2 then go to #3...its a real workout since I coast a lot when out on the road. I just added a odometer/speed computer to see exactly what I doing since when on the road I just used strava for distance. I put a pedestal fan in front and something on TV and the workout flys by.

This was a very good buy.We have moved to the part of United States that is cold and rainy in snow and the winter and this sufficient for not being able to go out on a bike path

Jeff C.

This was easy to assemble and I’m sure it does it’s intended job well…I just can’t say from my own experience. I use this device to keep my bike standing so that I can hang the clothes and hat I’m too lazy to fold and put away on it. Probably not what the designers had in mind, but it does that job well. Still haven’t lost any weight though. 🙁

Even though there wasn't enough written instructions on how to install my bicycle on the stationary stand, the installation was quite simple just by looking at the illustrations on the box that came with the stand. The stationary stand is quite sturdy and the noise level isn't that high. It meets my expectations.

This conveniently bike trainer is powerful! I am 210 pounds, but it's perfectly fine. The noise is not very loud and pretty much noise-canceling.When we ride bicycles outdoors, the friction noise of the products is just not controllable. So I think the bicycle training rack performs very well in terms of noise reduction.

It was a little kind of hard to utilize the first time, but it took me about 5-10 minutes. But as long as you adjust the position of the frame, the next step will be very easy.

Now, I can "ride" my town in the living room.Great, highly recommended!!!

Amazon delivered on time and the $10.00 off coupon helped! Watched the video on how to put it together, had my BF do it, it was relatively easy. I was on my bike (had not been on it in YEARS) and I am off peddling! I am so excited. The nose level is very low, TV heard at normal volume, was able to have a conversation with the TV going and while peddling with the BF have a Jamis Citizen 2 bike. Again, if you are on the heavier side, DO NOT HESITATE to buy this, I highly recommend!

Nice unit for the price. Easy enough to assemble for an older lady. I watched a couple of YouTube videos on assembling these bike stands to help me understand better.

Works good for now Supports my weight

I was hesitant about purchasing a stationary bike stand/roller but after purchasing the BalanceFrom Bike Trainer Stand I became a convert.

The stand was very simple to setup, the only issue I found was the need for ties in order to secure the cable used to adjust the tension of the roller. My initial riding I was a little concerned that it wasn't enough tension on the wheel however after my first ride and perspiration concern went away.

My only complaint which doesn't effect my 5 star rating is it's a little noisy.

I would suggest using a step stool for mounting your bike since it sits higher than normal and make sure to secure the lock ring!

NICE PRODUCT!

Brian Patrick

Appears well made. After setup I inspected it and determined it to be safe. Resistance wheel is useful. I used it on a non-quick-release-axle bike and it implemented well. As far as I can tell, it’s identical to the other stands with good affordability but this is the lowest price supplier.

I purchased this trainer after I broke my hand mountain biking to help stay in shape during my recovery. Its function as a trainer is great as long as you understand a few of the downsides of this particular unit.

The magnetic resistance is sufficient for me while running on a 27.5 tire with a 30 front chainring and 11 rear smallest cog. In fact when doing intervals I usually have it and 13 tooth or 15 tooth depending on how fast I'm spinning, with the magnetic resistance set to the hardest setting. I normally climb about two thousand vertical feet on a ride and this definitely replicates the resistance I experienced on some of the steeper 15 to 20% grades.

This will fit an older mountain bike with 135 mm rear dropout spacing with the quick-release style axle. This will not fit 142 mm or 148 mm through axles. I happen to have an extra older mountain bike that uses the 135 mm standard so it worked great for me but beware a newer bike may not fit.

This is quite noisy even when running a hard pack tire with a fairly loud whine from the contact between the tire and the resistance roller. If you're using a mountain bike like I am I would definitely try to put on a semi slick or hard pack tire to reduce not only the noise but also the vibration through the pedals that you will experience. That being said I've been training with headphones on and the noise is acceptable when I'm listening to music or watching a show.

For the price I think this is hard to beat and while clearly not as quiet as other units, not as smooth as the fluid units it serves a purpose for those who are looking for a cheap trainer to use on and off. I'll definitely be using this during the winter I keep my cardio up when the ground is covered with snow!

First off, I am a fifty something man, not a elite cyclist. I am not training for the Tour de France. I want something to get some miles on at off hours of the day. This trainer fits the bill perfectly. It is compact, easy to set up and includes everything you need. It took less than 10 minutes to get my bike on it, including changing the skewer and pumping up my tires. The resistance adjustment is not that great, barely noticeable, but I can get what I need with my bike's drive train. It seems stable enough too. I can stand in the saddle and go for a bit and not feel unsafe. It is not noisy I can carry on a conversation or probably watch TV if I wanted to easily. I can easily use ear buds for music or audible book with no issue. I would not hesitate to recommend this trainer. It is a great bang for the buck.

Scott L

This is my 2nd Rad trainer. The first one didn't have resistance control. The resistance control is a great feature and definitely makes things tougher as you advance to the higher settings. I saw several reviews that said the resistance control didn't do anything. Not true. It definitely works!
I also saw reviews that said the trainer is too loud. Not true. If you have tread on your tires there is noise but with a slick tire it is very quiet. This is a very good trainer.

I bought this trainer on a leap of faith given there were no reviews for this product. Here is my impression:

First thing's first: I ride a cyclocross 700c aluminum frame bicycle. The trainer was tested with 700-28c Vittoria Rubino Pro road tires so your mileage may vary based on your configuration. I am an amateur distance rider who focuses on crushed limestone trails and wanted a trainer to stay in shape in the off season. I bought this model because the price was right and I wanted something quiet and my research suggested that fluid trainers, as a whole, are the quietest.

Pros: The trainer seems to be solidly built. It came well packed with everything I would think a rider would need to use the trainer with their bike. Everything went together without any fuss, but the directions were not good. More on that in a minute. Most importantly for me is the trainer is indeed very quiet. The only noise I get when using it is a hum coming from where the the tire and resistance wheel meet while pedaling. Now my tires are fairly quiet to begin with and inflated to 90psi so I would think knobby mountain bike or aggressive cyclocross tires would make more noise, but for me this trainer is perfect.

Cons: The directions. I initially struggled to attach the resistance unit to the frame of the trainer. The pictures are too small in my opinion and the directions, I feel, assumed the end user knew what they were doing based on prior experience. This is my first trainer so I have no background with how these things come together.

One other minor negative is the resistance wheel has a hole in it; I assume that is how it is attached to the unit as a whole. The problem is the hole is rough and could cut a particularly large tire. My road tires don't get near it and it likely could be smoothed with sandpaper, but it is a quality control issue.

So overall I believe I got my money's worth with this trainer. I haven't used it much yet so I don't know how it will hold up long term, but so far the unit has exceeded my expectations. I hope this review helps others who were considering this unit, but were leery given the lack of reviews.

Happy riding!

I have 2 separate reviews to provide so this is tricky to write. First I'll comment on the reason I didn't give 5 stars. It's only because the packaging was not secure and did not protect the product. We all assume that items can get banged around in shipment so they need to be packaged well. Unfortunately the box was very dented and since the parts inside were not secure and padded there was a broken piece. Therefore I received a damaged product. I need to note that the damage was not to the actual gear and mechanism but to one of the very thick and sturdy ( so how badly was this box dropped!), knob. We still put together the trainer and decided not to return it. Now onto what really would be a five star review had it not been damaged. I absolutely love it! It is smooth and while there is a bit of (whirring) sound it's to be expected and does not disturb me or anyone else. We attached the trainer directly to my rear wheel (did not need to put the included rod through). I definitely feel I will be prepared to ride when the days get longer and Spring comes. I am not a "professional" rider but will ride 15 to 20 miles a day after work if possible when weather improves. To sum this up, I'm happy with the product, the ease of use and the fact I can adjust the tensioner and shift my gears and it takes up minimal space. I was very disappointed with the poor packaging. I actually have never received anything in such a damaged state ( and I've ordered a lot of items). I recommend this trainer for the quality and price. I hope they improve on packaging.

Update: the Seller immediately reached out to us, communicated and even sent new parts. They gave us a small refund as well. We really are happy with this product as we were and this worked out great. We've updated our rating.

Very pleased with this trainer, which was unrated or reviewed at the time of purchase. Some assembly required, but not that complicated (true enough, the directions are not terribly helpful, but it's not rocket science to figure out). Mounted a Trek DS with knobby tires, so there is some noise from the tire on the resistance wheel, but it's tolerable. Plan to buy a second one for my wife, and her bike. It does include the front tire riser, which was a nice touch. I tested a $300+ Kinetic Road Machine 2.0 at my local bike shop, and this one, for less than 1/2 the price, stacks up quite nicely. Haven't logged very much time yet, so we'll see if it passes that test. But for now, I've giving it 5 stars.
