I have this TV and it is the right size. Folks measuring it at 37 inches do not understand TV sizes. The listing clearly says the outside width of the TV is 37.4 inches. TV sizes are measured diagonally across the screen and this one is 42 inches.

That aside, this TV has been great for us. It arrived from Best Buy (purchased here via Amazon) in Greta condition and we had bought it during a sale. Setup was easy as we have several Fire TVs we knew what to expect. Once hung and setup we are able to control it with Alexa which has worked great in our basement gym.

I bought this TV for $269. IT IS 42 inches. I saw lots of people saying this TV was smaller than advertised in the reviews but they’re wrong. TV screens are measured diagonally and this is exactly 42 inches measured diagonally. Besides that the picture is really clear and I’m SUPER happy with how user friendly it is! Can easily switch from YouTube to Hulu to Netflix. The remote is cute too and has a voice search feature which surprisingly works well.

Buyer of Things

So I've been wanting to wall mount the TV in our bedroom for a while now. It's not super complicated, but the corner it was going in meant it needed a more complicated mount and we just wanted to make sure it's done right. Basically, if I'm mounting up something that will cost me a bunch of money to replace, I'd rather spent a fraction of that and have a professional do it.

The installer was friendly and accommodating. He was extremely thorough and even vacuumed after he was done to pick of drywall dust and hey, that impressed me because I barely vacuum. The service was quick and the tilt/swivel mount can now hold a full grown adult. And I know because the installer did pull ups on it to test it so I'm confident it can hold a flat screen TV.

Great service. If you can afford the luxury, go for it!

Had friends tell me to get the 100$ wall mount and heard many bad things on it and o found those wall mount . Built sturdy and tough compared to those other guys. Tilts with ease and point the tv in many directions with no challenge . Simply put. This is the wall mouth for your large tv. Don’t fall for price. Fall for the hassle free wall mount and know it won’t fall off the wall EVER!

Amazon Customer

I'm happy and impressed with it.

TV came well packaged and was easy to set up. Which is to be expected as Amazon is just slapping their FireTV OS guts and some branding on some TVs. But they still managed to get that Amazon feel across in the design and the accessories. I will say it would've been nice if they included an ethernet cable but I guess those saved pennies help their space program or something. Everything you need to get started is there with that minimalist Amazon appeal though. I was unpackaged, plugged in, and powered on in minutes.

Set up was a breeze after waiting for an update to download and install. If you're familiar with any of the Fire TV Sticks or other Amazon devices, everything here is familiar. I'm neck deep in the Amazon environment from Recast to Fire Sticks so this was an easy choice to take a flyer on. And yes, Recast works on this TV. So to the dozens of us that use it, worry not. The new Fire remote is handy and adds the extra stuff you need for full control of a TV while still being simple. Settings, channel up and down, Live TV, etc. are all there. I'm not the biggest fan of branded app buttons at the bottom of the remote as things go away and get renamed, but the more buttons the merrier. I'm sure they can be rebound to other apps.

The introductory price of the 50" was too good to pass up. But I will say all the regular prices are just high enough to not be complete bargains. I imagine modest discounts will come occasionally and will be well worth considering. And to be fair, these aren't bare minimum or cheap TVs. You get some real bang for your buck. Above average picture quality and honestly the best "smart" integration I've seen in a TV. I know they added one "premium" feature of Dolby Vision to the two largest options of the OMNI series but I do wish they would've made a model with a few more bells and whistles. Especially ones geared towards "gamers" and their consoles. 120hz, VRR, stuff like that. Would've been a riskier business choice I suppose. I was shopping for a bedroom and 65" or 75" was just too big and DV wasn't enough of an allure. But for an introductory line of TVs I think they struck the right balance of options in the two lines and prices points. I'm not a hands free voice user, so I didn't mind choosing the more budget friendly 4-Series line. And again, the introductory price on the 50" was a great deal. Borderline steal. I'm very satisfied.

Back to the OS and its spectacular integration; It boots up quickly and is always one home button, button click away no matter what you're doing or which input you're on. Everything is snappy and loads quickly. Apple+, PS5, Prime Video, PLEX, Recast, etc. have all been tested and work/look great. There's enough picture options to dial things in to your liking. I liked that Dynamic Backlight was off, but disappointed that Action Smoothing was cranked. But that's me. You can adjust the picture settings for each input. AND for each individual app! Which is pretty amazing and useful. The TV did have input lag with the PS5 out of the box. One of the picture settings like MPEG filter or something was the culprit, but there is a dedicated "game" profile in the picture settings presets that solved everything. I could see this being a small oversight that leads to a couple unhappy experiences (UPDATE: The TV received an update after launch that fixed this and it 'should' choose the "game" profile automatically now). All the options you need are there to solve things though. I can't wait to explore the nooks and crannies of this thing more. I definitely think they integrated the Fire OS directly to the TV really really well.

Big thumbs up to Amazon on their first run with these branded TVs.

I don't have any complaints. This TV is awesome (so far).

I just wanted to let DirecTV customers know that if you are having issues programing your remote and can't find the Brand name of the TV in options, it is called TCL. That option will work if you need to program your remote.

TV is amazing. Picture quality is awesome. Everything is in working order. Very happy customer 😊

I took a chance and I ordered this when it was announced and received it when it was released. It was well packaged. Unpacking and setup was very easy. I put it on a stand, so I needed t attach the included legs (4 screws, no biggie) which give the TV solid steady support. It took about 15 minutes for the TV to download and install all the available software updates once I connected it to our home WiFi. As a longtime Amazon Firestick users on my not-smart TVs, the interface for 4-Series is familiar and intuitive, as is the remote. The picture is pretty amazing. Very clear and bright, and highly customizable. The sound through the built in speakers is fine, but if you want more of a theatre experience you'll want to add speakers or a soundbar. I still have, and like, cable TV (I know, I'm a dinosaur) but switching to the HDMI input for the cable box is a no brainer -- either from a selection on the home screen or by asking Alexa. I can easily get to all my content and have an easy to use experience and great picture quality. Can't ask for much more than that. My only quibble, and it wasn't enough to remove a star from my rating, is the remote. I wish it was backlit, since I'm usually watching in a dark room. Also, the remote comes preconfigured with buttons for Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+, none of which I use (Amazon Prime, HBO Max, and Showtime meet my streaming needs). It would be nice to be able to customize those buttons for quick access to services I actually use. But it's not a biggie. It's a very good TV at a good price, especially if you catch it on sale. Recommended.

I have a TV with Fire Stick. I have a TV with Fire TV. I have a TV with Fire TV Cube. The TV with the Fire TV Cube is a Smart TV but the Smart TV features for someone who only uses streaming services over WiFi (No Antenna and No Cable) was not as good as Fire TV. I like Fire TV because I have all my streaming services, and more available, and a format that makes it easy to operate on any of my TVs. The Insignia 65" FireTV is the best. The single remote, Alexa, "my watchlist" works better than any of the previous opetions. The internal operating system is much improved. This TV is in a remote resort location and operates on a 4g signal putting out between 1 mbps and 5 mbps and runs very smooth. I need only one of the 3 HDMI inputs to connect a DVD player. My sound bar connects with one skinny optical wire. Nothing else to do and it was on. Ok Boomer, I connected like a pro! The 4k picture is great. Bought this from Best Buy over Amazon on Prime Day and saved $100.

Had it for about three days so far so good if youre used to a firestick youll love this its easy to use and the picture and sound is amazing great for the price to ! Highly recommend

I like the big 70 inch screen. Remote control is very easy to use. For an economy TV the picture quality is very good! Sound quality is completely adequate. I purchased this from Best Buy through Amazon so I could get free shipping. got it for under 500 bucks. I included a picture with a 50 inch screen TV hanging above it. I am going to hang this 70 inch one on the wall As soon as I can get someone to help me.. Considering the price and the Big screen this TV is an awesome purchase. I love the built-in Fire TV and Alexa. All the apps work good. I’m not going to compare it to a high-end expensive TV. But for an economy TV It’s well worth it. This is my first insignia TV. I’ve only had it for two days. So far I really like it. I’ll update this review after I’ve had the TV for a while to let people know How It Is holding up,and if I still feel the same way about it. My advice is to wait until the Price drops back down below 500 again before purchasing. At the moment the retail price is $649.
Review update...10 Days In and I like this TV more than what I did when I first reviewed it. It’s really awesome! We have watched several 4K Blu-ray movies and they’re just awesome on It! The picture quality is amazing. Especially when you’re factor in the price I paid for this TV. I could not recommend this TV enough. It’s an amazing TV for the price. I have a 60 inch 3-D TV that we don’t use very often. It’s setting below this one. I finally managed to hang This TV by myself. Don’t ask me how? LOL. It wasn’t too bad. Buy this TV, you won’t be disappointed. Update. I've had this TV for over a year. And I still think it's awesome. Because it is.

Received this product today. It was in EXCELLENT QUALITY when I received it. Easily un-boxed and able to set-up. All items were present. I have to say this was the quickest set-up I've ever had for any type of device (T.V, PC, Laptop, Phone, etc.). Although I did a bit of research before I purchased this device through Amazon. Then after I ordered it and while I was waiting for delivery I did a bit of reading on this site (reviews & Q&A's) just to have an "edge" when it came time to set it up. When all was said & done it probably was an hour to hour and a half from opening the box to setting back down on the couch after all was done.
Once you read through all the Q&A's, and about 75% of them are questions that have been asked two to three times, you'll have ALL of your questions answered so once your t.v. is delivered you have a plan of action and push right through that set-up.
Here are the biggest "complaints" that are non-sense when dealing with a ROKU t.v.:
A. It doesn't COST A PENNY TO SET UP A ROKU ACCOUNT and activate your T.V...if for some reason you come across a site or a phone call demanding payment in order to activate your t.v...hang up or whatnot, and reevaluate (i.e. make sure you have the correct website typed in or the correct phone number dialed in). You can activate your roku t.v. with a "free" roku account. You don't even have to put in a credit card.

B. You get what you pay for...Yes, while that is true in every aspect of life you can get a good deal without having to pay out the butt. I believe this is one of those times!!

C. This item DOES NOT COME WITH A WALL MOUNT. If you want to wall mount it you buy the mount yourself. If you want to specifications of what size wall-mount to buy they are all in the directions that come with the t.v. While I didn't wall mount it (I just used the stands that come with the set) If I wanted to all I had to do was either read through the Q&A's (as that question has been asked over 20 times) or just read through the "directions" booklet provided with the T.V.

D. If you want to use your phone as your "roku remote" all you have to do is d/l the app from your store (G-Play or apple) and you're good to go. No, the roku remote doesn't have numbers on it and yes it does have volume control on the side of it. Just remember, both your phone and your T.V. have to both be on the same wi-fi connection in order for your phone to work as the remote, if not, then it's a NO-GO!!

E. If you have satellite, cable, etc...YES, it works with this T.V., along with Wi-fi. The model I have doesn't work with Ethernet or bluetooth, but TCL does have models that do work with Bluetooth & ethernet.

Be a bit proactive, it'll save you a bunch of time in the end!

As I stated earlier, it didn't take any time at all for me to set this up from beginning to end. Take a bit of time and do some research!!

This set is great quality and you are easily able to adjust it to your liking in the settings menu. Every aspect of this set is adjustable. I couldn't be happier with the amount I paid for it!!!
Try it, YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!!!

In the pictures below, one of the pics is the front of the set and the other is a side shot showing the thickness of the set along with the fact that there aren't a million plugs coming from the back area.

I first want to say that I read through about an hour of reviews before deciding to purchase this TV. Fully understanding that sometimes you get what you pay for. I've waited almost a week to write this review because I wanted to give myself time to fully evaluate this TV. I give it 5 stars for price and quality. I'm very happy I took a chance to try a lesser known brand over the bigger names. The things that stand out the most that other people complained about are 1) no volume buttons on the remote. Not true. They are on the side of the remote. 2) having to enter your credit card for the Roku account. Also not true. At the bottom there is an option "skip this step" so you do not have to enter any payment information. 3) some people complained about the sound and picture quality. If you go into the settings, you can change all of those things to your liking. There's even a "game mode". So overall, I'm extremely happy and I would reccomend this TV to anyone who is looking for a great TV at an even better price.

I’m a 63 year old lady who is 100% oxygen dependent. I had this 49 inch smart TV up and running on my mantle within 25 minutes. It’s a little heavy for me since I am short and I weigh 136 pounds. Honestly I was worried at first. Anyway I put the feet on lifted it into my mantle plugged in the HDMI and power cords. Followed the directions with my iPhone and it works beautifully!!!! The price was reasonable and the Roku remote is easy. I downloaded the remote onto my iPhone so if my cousin looses it I will still be able to use the remote by using my phone. The picture quality so far is awesome. Sounds great. I hope to order one for my daughter in a few months!!!!! If I experience any difficulties I will try to post it if anything occurs. Great buy !!!!

To begin with, this review is for the Vizio D24f-J09. Amazon reviews can be very helpful...to a point. Unfortunately, they often include models other than the one you're viewing, so you have to be careful when relying on them. In this instance, reviews go as far back as 2018, which means they are for TV's other than this one.
I tried two other 24" TV's (LG and Insignia) and the pictures were very mediocre (although some reviewers thought they were fine). I had a Samsung 24" before with a beautiful picture, so I had something to compare them to. The picture on this TV is not as good, but it is pretty good, once adjusted properly (I'll speak to that in a moment). It is the most recent 24" TV from Vizio (as of March 2022). There is one other 24" model in their recent lineup, the D24f4-j01 which has a bezel-less design.
Of interest to almost everyone getting a 24" TV is the sound. Out of the box, the sound is OK, but not as loud as many would prefer. However, there is a way to correct this, which I'll get to shortly.
As to reliability, I've had this since November 2021, so it's too soon to tell. So far, so good, although Vizio has a bad track record in that regard.
It comes with lots of apps built in, probably all that most people would want. I don't see a way to add more. I can't tell you how well they work on the TV itself, as I use Amazon's Fire TV stick. With that, you can add tons of apps. That works very well.
There are two HDMI inputs on the back. It should be noted that this is not the traditional ultra-thin TV. It is 2 1/4" thick, which allow for better (not great) speakers.
OK, the settings you will need to get the best picture. This is the results of weeks of fine-tuning that seemed the best to me. You may need to make minor adjustments for your eye, but I suggest you try these for a few days before making any changes to allow yourself to get used to them.
Go to settings (the black and white "sun" button below the Pluto button on the upper left)/picture. These settings are in the order that they appear.
Backlight 100%
Brightness 48%
Contrast 50
color 65
Tint 0
Sharpness 30
Color Temperature NORMAL

Now, for the sound. Go to Setting/Audio.
Surround ON
Volume Leveling ON (This will noticeably increase the volume)
Dialog enhancer HIGH

There you go. This seems to be one of the very best choices available for the ever shrinking 24" TV offering.

Price, pic quality and size. That’s all you really need in life. Who needs a huge oversized, overpriced tv anyway? We now have 3 of these. One in the living room one in the bedroom and one on the covered roof outdoor patio. Satisfied customer here.

This tv is in my bedroom. I spend a lot of time watching it. Picture clearity and quality is very good. For the price I don't believe you can do any better.

What to Consider for 42 inch tv

Here are the key considerations

Features You are Looking for

The product should have the features you are looking for. All the reputed marketplaces and online shops write product descriptions, read them, assess them according to your need. If you are not happy with what they wrote on there, ask them.

You know what? Ifs better to regrate before than after purchasing a product online. Returning products is a hassle.

While checking the product features, compare its pros and cons. Here in our list, we picked the {replaceKey} features from Amazon, to make a quick look. Hope that helps.

Users Feedback and Brand Recognition

Certainly, a product is available on the market for a while, the brand hit some sales and obviously, there is a customer base. If you make a few google searches and read some user feedback you will get a nice idea about that product and brand value and recognition.

The good thing is here we have compiled some good feedback from real users, I mean verified product owners.
