I have big dreams too!

1. Don’t give up on your imagination

Dream BIG. Seriously dude, I want YOU to dream really BIG. Dream to the point where anything related to your ideas of success brings excitement and JOY to your life.  As kids, we always DREAMED. Sheesh, I dreamed a whole lot. I was lucky enough to NEVER lose my child-like imagination.

With dreams come opportunity, possibility and a positive life style. We all have an idea of how we would like to live if everything was going our way.

(Interlude)

Her first name Big, last name Dreams. I met this girl when I was three years old. She said, “Excuse my lil homie, I know you DON’T know me. But my name is Dreamy and I’m in love with you papi!”

Dreamy had scrawny arms, hair blown out like over-done pancakes, eyes that where sky blue, skin pale like milk, light grey hair on her arms and fingers as long as subway carts. Her body was super thick like Soap Opera Drama. I knew she was the one when I first met her. I said my name was Jonathan. We were by the sand box, I had gotten some sand in my ears and she was laughing uncontrollably.  She laughed so hard her pale face turned hot box red.

The more she giggled the more upset I became. So I turned away, pushed her to the side when I decided to move. She pulled me close, kissed me on the cheek and told me my breath smelled like baloney. I blushed, giggled and never left her sight from then on.

Each time we met was better than the next. We stayed up late during on our daily sleep overs or play dates running on planet Mars, eat dinner on Saturn, taking our separate baths on Pluto, taking hourly naps on Uranus and deciding to never come back to planet earth as long as we lived.

Dreamy always told me that the sky was the limit. Then she’d say, “That’s wrong!”, pointing her finger while I tried to defend the human race from space aliens in my bedroom. My mom would be cooking spinach and I had only until 6 p.m to destroy an entire pilgrimage before dusk, YUCK “face scrunches,” a heavy task indeed.

When Dreamy would approach me, I’d have my laser cannon 6000 on automatic ejaculation and she’d be walking into the battle field saying,” Jonathan!” I’d look at her with my shield protecting my body, so that the enemies wouldn’t be able to harm me and scream, ‘WHAT!”, dodging a few gremlins, sliding on moon rocks with dust kicking in my face.

She’d smile and then continue by saying, “You know how they say the SKY is the LIMIT.” She screamed this out as I nodded my head while wrestling with green monsters. She continued, THAT’S WRONG.” She echoed from the distance, there was a slight pause before ending it with “Because there’s NO LIMIT you have to look above the SKY! You can DO anything you put your MIND to!”

Her words caught me off guard, I stumbled into a crater (I was really just on my bed using my imagination and acting wild). Then my mom would come into my room, asking me if I was okay and would smile.  Dreamy would disappear for the moment and I’d fall asleep with her words imbedded into my cerebrum.

“There’s NO LIMIT. You have to look above the SKY! You can DO anything you put your MIND to!”

 2. Get Your Self a Dreamy

When I was young (wait I still am). Okay let me rephrase that. When I had to wear a diaper in order to use my utensils, my best friend was Dreamy as you’ve read. A girl I met once I was three years old. She was of course a figure of my imagination but brought me so much JOY. She told me things that excited my mind and caused me to believe I could do anything I put my mind to. So I did.

Get yourself a person, real or imaginary. Someone who will support you and tell you that you can make it and that you can reach high levels of happiness.  Shucks, if you can’t find no-one, then Dog-gone-it, use the man or woman in the mirror. Support YOURSELF! Empower YOURSELF, believe in yourself and TRUST your Inner Golden Monkey.

3. Trust Your Inner GOLDEN MONKEY

We all have an inner golden monkey. Most inner golden monkeys are coated in mud, muck and years of back insecurity.  Most golden monkeys are covered in a HUMAN lack in confidence and ability to see the glow inside themselves. It’s okay, because that’s why I’m here; to help you out.

The best way to see YOUR golden monkey is to say who you want to be and act in this manner from now on. I shall repeat this again, because that is one heavy line. The best way to see YOUR golden monkey is to, “Say who you want to be and act in this manner from now on.”

This means if you want to play baseball or be a playa, you wouldn’t stay home all day or tell yourself YOU can’t get any woman you want or hit a Home run right? You’d do the opposite. So get up, go to the MIRROR, say who you want to be and start walking in this direction.

P.S- This takes time. Nothing happens overnight. Even UPS couldn’t deliver this message.

What or who motivates YOU to DREAM BIG?!?!

You talk BIG Jonathan because you have BIG realities within you and are beginning to awaken and shine your own brilliance. But that’s beacuse you have shown through this top post that our own brilliance is the brilliance that we own – ourselves. Shine that, look up high, and become a star that’s illuminating this life. It’s our destiny be as bright as divinity itself. Why play small at all? Blessings for the reminder.

Well, it looks you figured it out. I’d say you have my girl, but her name is different.
She goes by Oasis Lovehold. She’s right here, sitting next to me and singing in my ear. You know, one of those stupid songs that gets stuck on repeat like a broken record and you can’t tell your friends because the ridicule would be excruciating….

Anyway, dig your writing style. It’s good to see my man Stu inviting some good peeps over here to write the good shiat….

Keep bangin those keys!

Johnathan: Awesome guest post! I haven’t seen you around the community, but it was really nice reading your writing. I believe in dreaming big, and going after them. I don’t believe in running of at the mouth before you make things happen. You made a good point to say what you want to yourself everyday. I recently read that somewhere else and I was planning on writing it down, and saying it to myself every morning as soon as I wake up. That sounds like something I could make a good habit out of right?

I like your writing style, because your personality shines bright! Keep up the good work!

God bless,

Hey William,

Thanks. When we tell ourselves tales of the future with emotion, it becomes real for us. It becomes something solid and concrete. Something real and authentic. Once we make it a belief, its all greatness from there. I appreciate the kind words. I really do. Thanks for the support mah dude.

Jonathan: Thanks for the comment! Believing in yourself is everything and + more. The hardest part is making it a belief. I believe in my abilities, but many times things can really hurt my motivation. Most of the times it’s the small things that hurt my motivation the most. Hopefully the idea of saying my plans out loud every morning will help with that. It’s best to always try to stay positive minded!

God bless,

Hey Jonathan,

Brilliant! I like the concept of the golden monkey. Dreaming big is quite common, but making that dream come true is probably what takes true grit and work. The mirror technique is such a great way of motivating oneself, it like talking to oneself, literally and figuratively.
My dad has been very inspiring, and his constant faith in me has me very inspired. Also, my best friend from school is another motivator.

Absolutely brilliant, really enjoyed the post!

Hey Hajra,

It great to see you had a father who was an early influence on your life. My father passed away when i was younger, so i had to fend for myself. The mirror tech, is such a great tool, it bring powerful results, it just take consistency. Thanks for the kind words..See you around. And thank you Stuart for being a gracious host.

As a member of the “older” generation, I find young bloggers like you, Jonathan, and you, Stu, totally refreshing. I came of age in the 60s when the old guard was overthrown and anything was possible. It was a heady time of confidence and imagination. I think y’all are doing and will continue to do amazing things in your lives. Enjoyed the post!

Ah, the Big Dreams. Awesome article. My problem, if I can say that it’s a problem, is to actually understand what I want to be when I grow up :)

My dreams are never about money, they are more about inner calm, and being confident, and happy with what I’m doing. Right now, my big dream (is not that big) is about owning a small farm, and growing vegetables… it might not be that hard to accomplish :)

Sounds like you know what you want Jens, and that’s further along the life path than a lot of people, who simply have no clue.

Small farm? Growing vegetables? Dreams don’t have to be big to be dreams ;-)

@Jens

That’s a great dream to have. We all have perspectives of what a BIG DREAM is. What’s big to Stu and I, may not be big to you. And what’s big to you, maybe not be big to stu and I. We all live via perspective. What ever you feel comfortable and happy with DO IT! As long as your happy my friend. This…THIS, is all that will ever matter!
